Oceania Cruises, a premier cruise line known for its culinary and destination focus, has reached a significant milestone in the construction of its new 1,200-guest ship, Allura, at the Fincantieri shipyard in Sestri Ponente, Italy, near Genoa. The vessel has been successfully floated from the dry-dock and moved to the fitting-out berth, where it will undergo the installation of its luxurious, designer-inspired interiors.

In a solemn ceremony acknowledging recent events, the shipyard’s chaplain, Father Stefano, blessed the ship. This ceremony, held with restraint out of respect for the late General Claudio Graziano, Chairman of Fincantieri, included the traditional christening by Allura’s shipyard Madrina, Caterina Romeo, a designer from Fincantieri’s technical department, who bestowed blessings upon the ship and all who will sail on her.

“Our hearts and minds are with the entire team at Fincantieri as they mourn the passing of General Graziano,” stated Frank A. Del Rio, President of Oceania Cruises.

“The float out is an important moment for all at Oceania Cruises and Fincantieri, as we progress closer to Allura joining our family. Now that we have completed her shell, we are excited to get started on her interior. We have lots of exciting enhancements on Allura, our eighth vessel, further elevating our offerings and firmly cementing Oceania Cruises as the only ultra-premium cruise brand.”

Allura is rapidly approaching her debut and is now in the final stages of construction, focusing on her luxurious suites, elegant lounges, and outstanding restaurants, all reflecting Oceania Cruises’ dedication to culinary excellence and immersive travel experiences. Allura is poised to set new benchmarks in the cruise industry with its refined design and innovative offerings.

Scheduled to commence service from Trieste, Italy, on July 18, 2025, Allura will embark on a six-day journey to Athens, Greece, stopping at Eastern Mediterranean treasures such as Rijeka, Croatia; Ravenna, Italy; Dubrovnik, Croatia; and Kotor, Montenegro. After her Mediterranean summer season, Allura will sail to Canada and New England for enriching voyages in North America before starting her inaugural winter season in the Caribbean, based out of Miami. As part of her debut lineup, Allura will also offer a unique four-day roundtrip voyage from New York City in September 2025.
