On the Gudisa savannah located in Maredumilli mandal of Alluri Sitarama Raju district, all tourism activities would be stopped for almost 15 days which started from today i.e., September 4 th to help wildlife conservation efforts. The grassland is a Reserve Forest which is located in the Rampa agency.

After the pandemic situation, the Forest department inflicted a temporary stop on the night stay of the grassland after tourists supposedly had set fire to the prairie, troubled the aboriginals and discarded used liquor bottles in their water sources.

The Divisional Forest Officer of Rampachodavaram, G.G. Narentheran, informed The Hindu that the 15-days stop on the entrance into the grassland area will get activated from September 4 th to maintain the grassland and elimination of solid waste discarded by the tourists here and there.

The stop on the night camp activities on the grassland area will continue as per the current rules, said Mr. Narentheran. Also, the Forest authorities have prepared to create fresh billboards along the route to the grassland to explain the tourists about the range of restrictions.
