AP retains the third spot for two years

Among the top 10 states in India in 2022, Andhra Pradesh has successfully reserved its third place for the second consecutive time in regard to domestic tourist visits. The state in 2022, has attracted 11.13% of the domestic footfall and reported 192.72 million DTV.

AP reported around 93.2 million DTV with 13.8 percent of domestic footfall and the state stood third in regard to DTV 2021. In 2022, AP recorded 107 percent growth in DTV in 2022 in comparison to 2021.

Last year, all travel related and tourist activities increases immensely after going through covid downfall. As per the information from union ministry, DTV in 2022 across the country stood at 1,731 million compared to 2021 which was 677 million.

In 2022, UP topped the chart. It was reported with 317.91 million DTV. Next was Tamil Nadu with 218.58 million and AP with 192.72 million.

In India, AP also turned out to be the most explore state in India and also for religious tourism, the state appeared as the most visited place. The Tirumala Temple attracted the maximum number of devotees.

When it comes to international tourists, AP didn’t rank in the top 10 whatsoever in 2022. Tamil Nadu was the only Indian state to lure 0.4 million international tourists.
