Batik Air is thrilled to unveil the expansion of its domestic flight network by introducing three new routes. Commencing on February 8, 2024, passengers will have the opportunity to embark on flights from KLIA Terminal 1 to Tawau in Sabah, Sibu in Sarawak, and Kota Bharu in Kelantan.
For Tawau (TWU), a daily service will be in operation, departing from KLIA at 8:30 am and departing from TWU at 11:50 am.
This strategic initiative addresses the growing travel demands of both business and leisure travelers between Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah, and Sarawak. It also facilitates seamless connections for passengers traveling on Batik Air’s domestic routes and accessing 56 international destinations across 22 countries. Furthermore, it enhances connectivity to the extensive route network provided by our partner airlines. The routes to TWU and SBW will be serviced by Batik Air’s Boeing 737-800 aircraft, equipped with 12 Business Class and 150 Economy Class seats.
In addition, KLIA will now offer double daily services to Kota Bharu (KBR), with departures scheduled at 8:30 am and 6:00 pm, and return flights from KBR at 9:25 am and 7:55 pm. Passengers originating from Kota Bharu with intentions to embark on Umrah can now seamlessly connect to Jeddah flights via the KLIA hub.
Datuk Chandran Rama Muthy, Batik Air’s Group Strategy Director, expressed his excitement for this new chapter, stating, “We are thrilled about these routes as they exemplify our commitment to meeting the evolving needs of our passengers. Batik Air extends additional services such as pre-purchased meals and discounted rates for extra baggage allowance. On-board, passengers can also avail themselves of a variety of meals and beverages available for purchase on all Batik Air flights.
