Direct Bhutan Airlines Flights to Hong Kong Set to Launch in 2025

Currently, travelers flying with Bhutan Airlines to Hong Kong face longer journey times, with layovers in Kathmandu, Nepal, or Bangkok, Thailand, extending their travel to 8-9 hours. The new direct route will drastically reduce travel time to just 3-4 hours, making the two destinations more accessible than ever before.

The airline will operate 16 scheduled flights annually between Paro and Hong Kong, coinciding with the peak travel season, as reported by Kuensel. Fares for the new Hong Kong service will start at BTN 81,100 (approximately HKD 7,404) for economy class and BTN 105,000 (approximately HKD 9,586) for business class.

Gianna Hsu, Chairperson of the Travel Industry Council of Hong Kong, highlighted Bhutan’s growing popularity as a global travel destination. She expressed hopes for establishing year-round flights between Hong Kong and Bhutan, which would further strengthen tourism ties between the two countries.

As Bhutan’s first private airline, Bhutan Airlines has focused on expanding its network across Asia. With the introduction of the Hong Kong route, the airline now offers direct flights to five international destinations, including India, Thailand, Vietnam, and Malaysia.
