Built on the idea of creating spaces where people feel connected, Blondie has always been shaped by its loyal community. The brand’s Bandra café became a familiar gathering spot where guests stayed back for coffee, conversations and matcha moments. With the launch of Janu, that community-driven philosophy expanded into a more vibrant and distinctly Indian expression. Bringing these two identities together, The Blondie House in Versova introduces a new multi-level destination that combines the signature elements of both brands while creating an entirely new experience.

The House has been designed as more than just a café. It brings together an all-day bakery, café, community hub and a dedicated Matcha Omakase experience under one roof. The space encourages visitors to slow down, work, read, connect and spend time. A shared dining table, curated library, photobooth and exclusive in-house merchandise add to the atmosphere, while regular events such as workshops, book readings, tastings and intimate community gatherings will transform the venue into a cultural meeting point.

The culinary programme at The Blondie House combines beloved Blondie favourites, popular Janu creations and new dishes developed exclusively for the Versova space. The breakfast menu features signature offerings such as Eggs Japo Style with Miso Butter and the original Blondie Avo Toast. The small plates selection introduces a mix of global and Asian-inspired flavours, including Pretzel with Miso Honey Butter and Yaki Udon. Janu’s Indian-inspired dishes continue the celebration of local flavours with favourites such as Pani Puri and Raj Kachori.

Among the standout creations is the Truffle Cheese Dosa, a contemporary take on the classic benne dosa featuring parmesan, cheddar, mozzarella and white truffle oil. Adding a playful element to the experience, the House will also feature a dedicated Froyo cart, offering guests another reason to return throughout the day.

The bakery and dessert counter highlights both classic Blondie creations and new experimental desserts. Guests can discover specialties such as the Pecan Miso Croissant Crown, Matcha Strawberry Tiffin, Sesame Tart and Pineapple and Pandan Religieuse, alongside freshly baked viennoiserie and the brand’s much-loved cookies. The rotating House cart will introduce seasonal bakes, weekend specials, homemade Greek yogurt, froyo and gelato, ensuring that every visit offers something different.

Beverages remain a central part of The Blondie House experience, featuring signature drinks including Mont Blanc, Yuzu Daydream and Blondie’s Sakura. The menu also includes speciality coffee, matcha creations, filter coffee, milkshakes and refreshing mocktails. Expanding on Blondie’s previous Matcha and Madeleines concept, the permanent Matcha Omakase experience explores the Japanese tea tradition through preparation methods, textures, flavour combinations and mindful rituals.

The interiors reflect a blend of Japanese hospitality principles and Scandinavian design aesthetics. The space combines concrete finishes, handmade ceramics, natural textures and greenery to create a warm and welcoming environment. Each level of The Blondie House has been designed with its own personality while maintaining a consistent visual identity focused on comfort, simplicity and thoughtful details.

Taking inspiration from architect Tadao Ando’s approach to material, light and space, the interiors use concrete, wood, marble and organic materials to create a calm and tactile setting. The design incorporates Blondie’s distinctive identity through carefully selected details, including a custom-made La Marzocco Strada coffee machine created exclusively for the House in the brand’s signature peach colour and featuring the Blondie logo.

The focus on craftsmanship extends beyond the physical design. The House includes handmade ceramics created by a woman founder and potter, specially developed house coffees sourced in collaboration with women farmers, and a retail collection featuring matcha, granola and house coffee products. These elements reflect the brand’s commitment to supporting independent creators and building meaningful connections.

A carefully curated library featuring works from Korean and Japanese authors adds another cultural dimension to the space. With plans for a dedicated book club, The Blondie House aims to encourage discovery, creativity and community interaction, positioning itself as a destination where food, design, culture and conversation come together.

Through its combination of café culture, culinary innovation, Japanese-inspired rituals and community-focused experiences, The Blondie House creates a new lifestyle destination in Mumbai, bringing together the familiar warmth of Blondie and the creative spirit of Janu in a single immersive space.

Ranjit Bindra, Founder, Bastian Hospitality, said, “The Blondie House is an evolution of how we think about hospitality, creating spaces that are not defined by a single meal or occasion, but become part of people’s everyday lives. Bringing Blondie and Janu together allows us to bring two distinct points of view to the same table: Blondie’s focus on coffee, matcha and community, and Janu’s bold, playful take on Indian food. With The Blondie House, we wanted to create a destination that feels relevant from morning to evening, where people can come to eat, discover, work, connect and simply spend time. It is our way of reimagining what a neighbourhood hospitality space can be.”

Natasha Hemani, Brand Director, Blondie, said, “Blondie has always been about the details that make people want to come back, what they eat, what they drink, but also how they spend their time there. With The Blondie House, I wanted to take that feeling further. You can come in for a matcha, stay to work, pick up a book, take a photobooth strip or simply sit around with nowhere else to be. The House should feel beautiful, but also immediately yours.”
