Atlantic City, one of New Jersey’s leading coastal tourism destinations, is preparing for an active autumn and winter season with major resort investments, Halloween celebrations, entertainment programmes and business events.

According to an announcement issued by Visit Atlantic City on 8 October 2026, several prominent hospitality properties are introducing improvements designed to strengthen visitor experiences and encourage travel beyond the traditional summer holiday period.

The developments include a $107 million renovation at Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa, a $14 million expansion at Ocean Casino Resort and a $50 million capital improvement programme at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City.

Together, these investments represent approximately $171 million in announced resort improvements, although their completion schedules extend across different periods.

Borgata Announces $107 Million Hotel Transformation

Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa is undertaking a $107 million renovation of its Borgata Tower, with refurbished guestrooms scheduled to become available progressively from October 2026.

The project includes guestrooms, suites, corridors and the tower’s main lobby, known as The Living Room.

Avenue Interior Design is overseeing the transformation, introducing contemporary Italian influences, wooden finishes, textured furnishings and customised interiors.

The renovation forms part of a broader property improvement programme continuing into 2027.

Meanwhile, Ocean Casino Resort has announced a $14 million redevelopment of The Cove, its high-limit slot area.

Scheduled to open in early 2027, the expanded facility will cover 11,935 square feet and accommodate more than 192 slot machines.

Hard Rock Atlantic City Advances Its $50 Million Improvement Programme

Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City is continuing its $50 million investment programme during 2026.

The resort has completed renovations covering more than 700 guestrooms, over 60 luxury suites and eight penthouses in its North Tower.

Public corridors and walkways have also received improvements.

New dining options include Sitar, a contemporary Indian restaurant overlooking the Boardwalk, and Federal Donuts & Chicken.

These additions broaden the resort’s hospitality offering and provide visitors with more accommodation and dining choices.

Halloween Celebrations Bring New Experiences to Atlantic City

Halloween forms a central part of Atlantic City’s autumn tourism programme, with hotels introducing themed entertainment, nightlife activities and family attractions.

Resorts Casino Hotel is hosting The Boo Bar: Witches Edition, featuring seasonal decorations, themed drinks, live performances and Saturday dance activities.

Hard Rock’s Lobby Bar is presenting Disco for the Dead throughout October.

Tropicana Atlantic City will stage Halloween celebrations between 17 October and 1 November, including 14 costume competitions and more than $10,000 in prizes.

Showboat Resort Atlantic City will host family-friendly activities, including The Haunting Aboard Showboat on 30 October.

Other attractions include candlelight Halloween concerts, theatrical performances and themed entertainment at Harrah’s Resort.

Conventions and Sporting Events Support Tourism Growth

Business tourism remains an important contributor to Atlantic City’s visitor economy.

Visit Atlantic City reported that more than 48 major events, conferences and conventions during the third quarter generated over 28,515 hotel room nights.

These gatherings attracted more than 79,900 attendees and contributed an estimated economic impact of $57.5 million.

The fourth-quarter calendar includes the Atlantic City Marathon, the New Jersey Education Association Annual Convention, the New Jersey League of Municipalities Conference and the Triple Play REALTOR Convention & Trade Expo.

Such events support accommodation demand, restaurant activity and visitor spending outside the peak summer season.

Winter Entertainment and Holiday Travel Create Further Opportunities

Atlantic City’s winter calendar also includes celebrations designed to attract short-break visitors.

Tropicana Atlantic City will mark its 45th anniversary with beachfront fireworks on 21 November 2026.

Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City is also preparing a two-night New Year’s celebration featuring DJ Cassidy.

Beyond scheduled events, visitors can explore the Boardwalk, indoor attractions, restaurants and entertainment venues throughout the colder months.
