Iberia has been crowned with the accolade of the “Best Airline Staff Service in Europe” by the Skytrax World Airline Awards 2026. It is an extension of the recognition of the work done by the cabin crew and the staff at the airports. This shows that Iberia focuses on the well-being of its staff, service professionalism and excellence. This honor is a testament to its global air services.

The prestigious honour was announced during a ceremony at The Langham Hotel in London, where Iberia representatives attended to receive the award. The event was joined by Iberia’s leadership and members representing the airline’s operational teams, highlighting the contribution of its cabin crew and airport service staff.

The recognition celebrates the quality of customer experience delivered by Iberia teams across both air and ground operations. It acknowledges the professionalism, dedication and hospitality of the airline’s cabin crew, as well as customer-facing employees who support passengers throughout their journeys at airports and onboard flights.

“This recognition is particularly important because it reflects the direct assessment of our customers and acknowledges the work of the thousands of professionals who make up Iberia. Every day, our teams, both on the ground and on board, put their experience, dedication and personal approach at the service of those who choose to travel with us. This award is for all of them. It highlights their daily work and the way they represent the hospitality that defines Iberia,” said Marco Sansavini, President of Iberia.

Passenger Ratings Drive Recognition

The World Airline Awards 2026 are based on a comprehensive global passenger satisfaction survey carried out between September 2025 and August 2026. The survey collected feedback from travellers representing more than 100 nationalities, with a total of 24.8 million valid customer responses recorded during the evaluation period.

Often described as the “Oscars of the aviation industry”, the awards are determined entirely through passenger feedback and ratings. The survey, along with the awards programme and ceremony, is independently funded by Skytrax, with no participation fees, sponsorship payments or charges linked to the use of award logos or results.

Customer Experience Remains Central to Iberia’s Future Growth

Improving customer experience remains a key focus area under Flight Plan 2030, Iberia’s long-term strategy designed to support transformation, innovation and future growth. The airline is continuing to enhance passenger journeys through greater digitalisation, personalised services and operational improvements, while maintaining the human approach and service standards delivered by its teams.

As part of this ongoing transformation, Iberia is preparing to upgrade the interiors of 100 per cent of its long-haul aircraft cabins. The airline will also improve travel convenience on short- and medium-haul aircraft by adding larger XL overhead bins, increasing available space for passengers’ hand luggage.

Further enhancements are also being introduced across Iberia’s airport services, with upgraded facilities and premium customer spaces. The airline recently opened the Emerald Lounge Sorolla at Terminal 4 of Adolfo Suárez Madrid–Barajas Airport, offering an enhanced airport experience for eligible premium travellers, including Platino, Platino Prime, Infinita, Infinita Prime and Singular customers.
