Denver International Airport

Spring break travel has arrived, and Denver International Airport (DEN) anticipates a surge in passenger numbers, reaching record levels. The outgoing traffic from Denver, coupled with the influx of inbound travelers aiming to make the most of the remaining weeks of ski season, is set to make DEN exceptionally bustling. From March 12 to March 30, the airport foresees over 1.2 million passengers passing through TSA checkpoints, marking a 6.7% increase compared to the same period in 2023. The peak travel days, expected to see over 80,000 passengers each day, are March 16, 17, and 22.

Before embarking on your spring getaway, DEN offers some valuable tips for travelers. It’s advised that passengers arrive at the airport at least two hours prior to their boarding time to ensure ample time for baggage check, security clearance, and reaching their gate. Longer security lines are anticipated, particularly during peak periods which are 4-5 a.m., 7:30-9:30 a.m., and 2:30-4:30 p.m.

Here are some travel pointers for passengers navigating DEN during spring break:

TSA

Passengers are advised to utilize real-time security wait time updates on FlyDenver.com to select the most efficient checkpoint. Additionally, travelers can enroll in expedited screening programs like TSA PreCheck and CLEAR, or utilize DEN RESERVE for a more predictable security experience.

Parking

For cost-effective parking, the Pikes Peak and Longs Peak shuttle lots offer parking at $8 per day. DEN also provides 36 electric vehicle charging stations on Level 1 of the parking garages.

Transit

Due to limited parking during holidays, consider using the RTD ALine to reach DEN.

DEN Travel Assist

DEN Travel Assist by SkySquad offers assistance for travelers, starting at $129. Assistance includes unloading luggage and escorting travelers within the airport.

Before You Leave for the Airport

Check flight status and real-time parking availability on FlyDenver.com.

Picking up Passengers

Wait at Final Approach, DEN’s cell phone waiting lot, until your party is ready to be picked up.

Shopping and Dining

Arriving early allows time to explore DEN’s shopping and dining options.

DEN Customer Service

For assistance, contact DEN customer service via phone, text, or live chat.

DEN Lost and Found

To report lost items, contact DEN’s lost and found service.

Spring break travelers are encouraged to heed these tips to ensure a smooth and enjoyable journey through Denver International Airport.
