The UAE has officially made its way off the red list on Sunday, 4AM, with the tourism operators and hospitality bosses of Gulf country having a sigh of relief. The UAE and Bahrain will now be removed from the UK’s red list.
The British government declared the news, providing an important boost to tourism and allowing families to be reunited. They will further connect other amber list countries as well.
The decision means that people entering most of the UK from these points of origin will not have to undergo quarantine in a government hotel for 10 days.
Passengers arriving from amber list countries, will not be needed to isolate themselves for 10 days on arrival in UK. They can be released after day five with a negative test result. Tourists coming from amber status countries who have been fully vaccinated with inoculations approved and administered in the UK, EU and US will not be required to self-isolate themselves but have to provide a negative Covid-19 test within two days of arrival.
Several countries were upgraded to the UK’s green list. The decision comes as a major release to the entire travel industry, which has been devastated by the pandemic.
