First Moxy Hotel of the brand in Hungary was launched with the opening of Moxy Budapest Downtown. The Moxy brand has now become available in Budapest as well. Moxy Budapest Downtown is located in a lively neighborhood of Kazinczy Street. As the area is famous for its nightlife activities and creative events, this location is perfect for socially active travelers staying at the hotel. The launch of this hotel is an important marker of development in the Hungarian hotel market.

The hotel was formerly a place for a popular dance school and is now designed by Austrian architects from BWM. Industrial materials combined with theater-style lighting create an atmosphere of an unusual place to stay at Budapest. Also, one can enjoy the lobby mural created especially for this hotel by Áron Hidvégi.

Vibrant Social Experiences at the Core of Moxy

True to the Moxy brand, social engagement is central to the guest experience. At Bar Moxy, guests receive a welcome cocktail during check-in, while lively public areas are designed to spark spontaneous social interactions. The hotel encourages guests to connect, creating a hub for shared experiences, creativity, and community engagement. The project contributes to the transformation of Kazinczy Street and its surroundings into a vibrant mixed-use district, blending hospitality, gastronomy, culture, and public community spaces.

The property features 281 guest rooms with functional technology and workspaces, a 24/7 fitness centre, and two event and meeting spaces, catering to both leisure and business travellers. Its rooftop bar, Saddle & Sky, inspired by Sisi’s equestrian passion, offers panoramic city views and a dynamic social setting, while planned street-level restaurants integrate the hotel into the local urban lifestyle, enhancing Budapest’s hospitality ecosystem.

Driving Urban Revitalisation and Hospitality Sector Growth

Developed by Forestay Group, the hotel is part of a larger effort to revitalize central Budapest. The project contributes to transforming Kazinczy Street into a mixed-use urban district, blending hospitality, gastronomy, cultural experiences, and community spaces. The arrival of Moxy Budapest Downtown signals a surge in international investment in Budapest’s hospitality market, reinforcing the city’s reputation as a destination for both leisure and business travel.

By adding a vibrant, midscale-luxury brand to the city’s offerings, the hotel creates employment opportunities, stimulates local business growth, and strengthens Budapest’s competitiveness in the European hospitality sector. The property is expected to drive foot traffic to surrounding venues and support ancillary industries such as restaurants, cafes, and cultural attractions, underlining the broader economic impact of hospitality sector expansion.

These environmentally conscious design elements enhance Budapest’s reputation for sustainable tourism and set a benchmark for future hospitality investments, aligning sector growth with responsible urban development.
