Etihad Airways Welcomes 10 Millionth Loyalty Member, Ushers in New Era for Etihad Guest

Etihad Airways, the United Arab Emirates’ flagship carrier, is celebrating a significant milestone as the 10 millionth member joins its prestigious loyalty program.

This landmark achievement heralds the next phase of the Etihad Guest program, which aims to elevate the membership experience and make every journey more rewarding.

Mark Potter, Managing Director of Etihad Guest, said: “We are delighted to welcome our 10 millionth member to the Etihad Guest family. In parallel to the airline’s own growth trajectory, we’ve seen an exciting expansion in our member numbers which have leapt by a quarter since the beginning of 2023.

“The lucky guest who has become the 10 millionth member is in for an incredible surprise when they are notified later this month.

“We are going to upgrade them to Platinum status immediately,” explains Mark. “This is a tier set aside for the programme’s most frequent flyers, requiring 125,000 Tier Miles to attain.”

This celebration coincides with Etihad’s 20th anniversary, a period marked by its commitment to providing exceptional services that reflect its Emirati heritage.

Since its inception in 2006, the Etihad Guest Loyalty Programme has grown to encompass a worldwide community of members, particularly strong in the UAE, India, the UK, the USA, and Australia. This reflects the airline’s strategic growth and increased flight frequencies.

“Today’s landmark moment comes as we activate the programme enhancements we announced earlier this year, offering a diverse range of personalised benefits to guests from the moment they join,” said Mark.

From the moment members sign up, they enjoy Core Benefits, starting with the Bronze Tier, which includes complimentary access to onboard Wi-Fi Chat packages for staying connected via WhatsApp, iMessage, and Messenger during flights.

With increased travel and engagement, members advance through tiers, gaining access to more prestigious Core Benefits like additional baggage allowances, priority check-in, and boarding, along with Bonus Etihad Guest Miles.

Moreover, the program has introduced Custom Benefits, empowering members to personalize their travel benefits. Members can choose from options tailored to their preferences, such as additional luggage or seat selection, based on their membership tier.

The program also offers Beyond Benefits for its most dedicated members. Those reaching the Gold Tier, with 75,000 Tier Miles, or the Platinum Tier, with 175,000 Tier Miles, can select special perks as a token of appreciation for their loyalty.

Members can also share exciting rewards like priority boarding or lounge access with loved ones.

A new pinnacle of recognition, the Diamond Tier, rewards the airline’s most faithful passengers. Achieving this level requires existing Platinum members to spend USD 150,000 within a 12-month period on Etihad flights, offering them an array of exclusive, tailor-made benefits.
