The UAE’s national carrier, Etihad Airways, has revealed its premium lounges inside Abu Dhabi International Airport’s new Terminal A. This comes after Etihad made history by operating Terminal A’s first commercial flight on October 31, and the new lounge is shown ahead of the airline’s entire transition to the new Terminal, which is scheduled to take place between November 9 and 14.
Etihad’s new lounges take up three levels on Terminal A’s north side, between Piers C and D. The First and Business lounges provide a variety of food options, relaxation and entertainment areas and the beautiful Constellation Bar in the covered Roof Lounge.
Guests flying in Etihad’s The Residence, First and Business Class, as well as Etihad Guest members with relevant tier status, have access to the Etihad lounges. Guests flying in Economy can purchase entry to Etihad’s Business Lounge, subject to availability.
“When designing the Etihad Lounges in our new home, Terminal A, our teams thought through every detail, ensuring an experience that will delight our guests from the moment they step through the door,” said Antonoaldo Neves, Chief Executive Officer, Etihad.
The Lounge is strategically placed near three gates that enable direct-lounge boarding on selected flights, allowing customers in premium cabins to board directly from the Lounge for convenience and efficiency.
“The lounge is a hugely important aspect of our guests’ journey and we wanted to curate an impressive experience that will leave them wanting to fly again soon. In true Etihad style, we’ve been innovative with the design and will offer a selection of memorable experiences whether our guests choose to relax, indulge in various dining options or enjoy a refreshing drink at the signature Constellation Bar,” he added.
Etihad’s Business Class lounge offers a variety of eating options. Liwan Global eating is Etihad Lounge’s casual, all-day eating restaurant, with live cooking stations, Emirati and Middle Eastern cuisines, and worldwide favourites inspired by the countries Etihad travels to.
Guests may also eat in the Roof Lounge during specific times and enjoy an international buffet of hot and cold foods.
The Constellation Bar within the Roof Lounge is adorned with Panora, a 172-piece, 25-meter-long handmade glass lighting sculpture depicting the Abu Dhabi metropolitan skyline. The bar, which will serve a broad variety of cocktails, mocktails, wines and drinks, is expected to become a destination in itself for regular passengers.
The Relaxation Rooms offer quiet areas with day beds and luxurious Armani Casa furniture for visitors to rest and rejuvenate before their journey in one of the 18 elegantly designed shower rooms.
There is a Games Room as well, which is fully equipped with table football, air hockey, and digital gaming options for everybody.
A special Family Room has been painstakingly developed with young passengers in mind, complete with activities, toys, and stories to keep small ones amused.
Additionally, Chesterfield sofas provide sumptuous relaxation to cigarette and cigar smokers in the Smoking Lounge.
For comfort and convenience, prayer rooms have been deliberately built with ensuite ablution spaces.
The elite First Lounge provides a distinct welcome lobby for Etihad’s most prestigious visitors as well as a private lift to the Rooftop Lounge on the complex’s top floor. With à la carte meals and a fine and boutique wine selection chosen by in-house specialists, the First Lounge meals Room provides an upgraded dining experience.
Customers will be treated to a sumptuous assortment of pastries, cakes, and a bespoke tea experience in an exquisite setting at The Parlour for First. The event includes a variety of tea ceremonies as well as a presentation of trademark coffee.
First class Private Suites are offered for clients to work, rest, and dine in full private before flying for the ultimate in pleasure and enjoyment. The Private Suites are accessible for hire by all other First Class lounge passengers and are gratis for guests travelling in The Residence.
In addition to the First and Business class lounges in Departures, premium passengers arriving in Abu Dhabi with pre-booked chauffeur services are invited to the Etihad Chauffeur Lounge to wash, rejuvenate, or just get a short snack or drink before meeting their chauffeur.
