Vietjet

Vietjet has expanded its flight network originating from Vietnam’s capital, Hanoi, with the introduction of two fresh destinations: Hiroshima in Japan and Melbourne in Australia. These additions come as part of the airline’s extensive expansion plans for 2024, further solidifying its presence in Asia and Australia.

Hanoi-Hiroshima
Commencing on May 12, Vietjet will inaugurate flights connecting Hanoi with Hiroshima, Japan. Situated in the southwestern region of Japan, Hiroshima boasts UNESCO World Heritage Sites and numerous landmarks, making it a sought-after destination. Vietjet’s new service aims to foster increased tourism and trade between the two cities and nations.

The airline will operate two weekly return flights on Thursdays and Sundays. Departing from Hanoi at 6:00, the flight will arrive in Hiroshima at 12:30. The return leg from Hiroshima will take off at 13:30, landing at Noi Bai Airport in Hanoi at 16:20.

This expansion supplements Vietjet’s existing network in Japan, which includes flights from Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi to key destinations like Tokyo, Osaka, Nayoga, and Fukuoka.

Hanoi-Melbourne
During the Australia Business Forum 2024, Vietjet revealed another significant extension to its Australian network. In addition to its current services from Ho Chi Minh City, the airline will commence operations from Hanoi to Melbourne.

Starting June 3, Vietjet will offer two round-trip flights per week on Mondays and Fridays for the Hanoi-Melbourne route, with flights lasting approximately 10 hours. Departures from Hanoi to Melbourne are scheduled for Mondays and Fridays at 17:10, while return flights depart Melbourne the following day at 7:30.

Vietjet’s presence in Australia has significantly expanded, as the airline presently operates 58 weekly flights connecting Ho Chi Minh City to five major Australian cities: Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, and Adelaide. These flights utilize a fleet of Airbus A330 and A321 aircraft.
