The Confederation of Indian Industry has repeatedly mentioned about its demand to announce in Kerala that tourism is an important industry in view of the huge contribution that tourism makes to the economy of Kerala and its immense potential in terms of growth.
Suchitra Ella, CII southern region chairperson, informed the reporters on Thursday here that this time the CII would work to make sure that the government took tourism’ demand seriously. She was mentioning the priorities and the main points of the work plan for 2022-23 in CII southern region.
Proclaiming it as an industry, it will help tourism boom majorly, particularly in the times after covid, she said and emphasized that the government had reacted really well to the appeal of the CII.
CII as part of its initiations to aid the sector to grow in Kerala, it will work to make the state world’s health and wellness destination as Kerala has immense potential in terms of growth in wellness and medical tourism. Also, CII will request the government to develop a first-rate Ayurvedic medical college as an international centre of brilliance, which will perk up the tourism sector even more in the State.
Also, CII will work with the government to encourage the state as a brand at various international forums like the World Economic Forum and G-20, which will happen all over the world, including in India.
