Four Seasons Hotel Jakarta announces the appointment of Mayoshi Subrata as Director of Marketing. Bringing nearly 30 years of hospitality experience and a deep understanding of Jakarta’s luxury landscape, Mayoshi is now on a mission to share Four Seasons unique attributes with even more guests in both the domestic and overseas market.

“This is an incredibly special Hotel, from its elegant and flexible functions spaces to its deeply personalized, heartfelt service. I am excited to build further on its foundation of excellence and bring our brand to guests in ever-better, more innovative ways,” she shares.

For Mayoshi, who has worked in several of the city’s top luxury hotels, people come first and foremost. “Beyond business, I love getting to know my team members and clients at a personal level. The best relationships are those that can stand the test of time, despite ups, downs or pauses along the way,” she says, adding that what drew her most to Four Seasons was its famous Golden Rule — “treat others as you would like to be treated.”

Mayoshi started her career in the airline industry, working as a first-class flight attendant with Garuda Indonesia until a chance stint as a hotel receptionist in Italy sparked her love affair with hospitality. Returning to Indonesia, she joined the Mandarin Oriental in Jakarta as a guest reception officer. Quickly working her way up the ladder, she then joined the sales team at Kempinski, where she continued her growth journey from assistant sales manager to assistant director of sales.

Next came a rewarding tenure with the IHG group. After serving as director of sales at the InterContinental in Jakarta for five years, she was appointed director of sales and marketing for a new Holiday Inn in Bali — a challenging assignment that involved changing the long-held perception of the renovated hotel among wholesalers, travel agents and customers.

In 2013, she returned to Jakarta, where she bolstered her luxury credentials working as assistant director of sales and marketing with the Dharmawangsa and the Fairmont, before joining the Mandarin Oriental as director of commerce — her most recent role before becoming part of the family of Four Seasons.

In her new role, Mayoshi’s goal is to continue the journey of Four Seasons Hotel Jakarta as a leading luxury brand, both in Jakarta and globally. As a leader, she also brings renewed focus to supporting her team members. With a deep respect for genuine two-way collaboration, she seeks to understand each team member’s personality, ambitions and working style in order to cultivate their talents and support them in the best possible way.

What does she love most about her job? “The energy and spirit of the hotel industry, which is always full of smiles and positive vibes!” She is also passionate about numbers, an interest honed over decades in the sales and marketing field.

On weekends, Mayoshi loves to spend time with her two kids, be it exploring a new part of the city or enjoying a meal together with the extended family. She also makes it a point to carve out time in her busy schedule for jogging, walking and travelling — her favourite forms of “me time.”
