IHG Hotels & Resorts is strengthening its presence in India through a new management agreement with Entry Point Hotels & Resorts Private Limited for the development of Holiday Inn Raipur in Naya Raipur, Chhattisgarh. Expected to welcome its first guests in the first quarter of 2031, the proposed hotel marks another step in IHG’s strategy to expand into emerging Indian destinations where business travel, infrastructure investment and commercial development are creating new opportunities for the hospitality industry.

The agreement reflects growing interest in branded accommodation across India’s developing urban centres. Holiday Inn, one of IHG’s established international hotel brands, continues to attract hotel owners seeking to serve the changing requirements of business and leisure travellers. The planned property will support the brand’s expansion in India while strengthening IHG’s presence beyond traditional metropolitan hotel markets.

Naya Raipur Emerges as a Promising Destination for Hospitality Investment

Naya Raipur, officially known as Nava Raipur Atal Nagar, is developing into an important administrative and business centre in Chhattisgarh. As the state’s planned capital, the city is experiencing continued investment in government facilities, public infrastructure, institutional developments and commercial projects.

Holiday Inn Raipur is planned for Sector 24, a location offering access to major administrative establishments, including Mantralaya and Vidhan Sabha. The site will also provide connectivity to Swami Vivekananda Airport, making it suitable for government representatives, corporate visitors and other travellers arriving in the region.

Designed to meet the needs of different traveller segments, the proposed Holiday Inn Raipur will comprise 156 guest rooms and suites, including 16 suites. The accommodation offering will be complemented by three food and beverage outlets, providing guests with a range of dining and social spaces.

Plans include a 117-seat all-day dining restaurant, a bar accommodating 40 guests and a 40-seat lobby lounge. The property is also expected to feature a swimming pool, fitness centre and parking facilities, supporting both short business visits and longer stays.

Meetings and Events to Strengthen the Hotel’s Business Travel Appeal

Meetings, conferences and social functions will form an important part of the hotel’s proposed facilities. Holiday Inn Raipur is expected to offer approximately 942 square metres of meeting and event space, distributed across four venues.

The centrepiece will be a 715-square-metre divisible ballroom, providing flexibility for conferences, corporate gatherings, government functions and celebrations of different sizes.
