Silversea Unleashes Epic 2028-2029 Global Cruise Expansion With 103 Voyages, 29 New Ports and Grand South America Adventure
Silversea will be extending its international luxury cruise program through its 2028-2029 voyage series, which will feature an impressive lineup of 103 voyages, 219 destinations, and 56 countries, offering exciting ways for travelers to discover the Mediterranean, Caribbean, South America, Asia, Australia, and New Zealand.
Running from September 2028 through May 2029, the collection introduces 29 new ports of call while placing several itineraries around major cultural celebrations and seasonal events. Mediterranean Programme Expands With Two Luxury Ships
The Mediterranean will form an important part of Silversea’s 2028-2029 deployment, with Silver Nova and Silver Dawn operating 17 voyages between October 2028 and March 2029.
Together, the ships will visit 53 destinations across 12 countries, offering travellers access to established Mediterranean favourites alongside new ports.

Among the additions are Brindisi and Imperia in Italy, expanding the range of smaller coastal destinations available within the programme.
The Mediterranean schedule will also feature overnight stays in Cadiz, Funchal, Fusina near Venice, Genoa, Istanbul, Livorno, Naples and Valletta.
Deploying two ships across the region is designed to provide greater flexibility for travellers who want to combine different itineraries and explore both the Eastern and Western Mediterranean.
Rather than concentrating exclusively on conventional summer cruising, the programme stretches into the cooler months, allowing Silversea to build itineraries around cultural celebrations and seasonal experiences.
Venice Carnival Becomes Centrepiece of Immersive Cruise Experience
Venice Carnival will become one of the headline experiences aboard Silver Dawn, with overnight calls allowing passengers to remain in the destination after daylight sightseeing ends.
The extended stay is designed to bring travellers closer to Venice during one of the city’s most celebrated cultural periods. An evening experience inspired by the atmosphere and history associated with Casanova will form part of the programme.

Another Silver Dawn voyage will position passengers in Funchal, Madeira, for New Year’s Eve, giving guests the opportunity to see the destination’s renowned fireworks celebrations from the ship.
After Madeira, the voyage will continue towards North Africa, including calls at Casablanca and Tangier in Morocco.
Silver Dawn’s programme will additionally include three sailings featuring Alexandria, Egypt. Excursion opportunities will connect passengers with the Great Pyramids and Grand Egyptian Museum, adding major archaeological and cultural attractions to the Mediterranean programme.
Two further itineraries will include calls at Istanbul, strengthening the collection’s coverage of the eastern Mediterranean and Türkiye.
S.A.L.T. Voyages Turn Regional Food Into the Main Attraction
Food will move beyond the traditional onboard dining experience through an expanded collection of S.A.L.T. Culinary Voyages.
The itineraries are designed around regional ingredients, culinary traditions, seasonal produce and local food culture. Experiences will extend from restaurants and vineyards to markets and food-producing regions.

Three Wine & Truffle voyages aboard Silver Dawn will operate across Italy and Spain between October and December.
These journeys will follow the European truffle season, connecting destinations including Livorno, a gateway to Tuscany, and Palamós, close to the truffle-producing landscapes of Catalonia.
Passengers will be able to participate in activities such as truffle-hunting excursions, vineyard visits, guided tastings and specialised onboard culinary programmes.
The concept combines destination exploration with food education, allowing regional cuisine to become an important part of the wider journey rather than simply an onboard amenity.
Asian Markets Inspire New Food-Focused Voyages
Silversea will extend the S.A.L.T. concept deeper into Asia with four Asian Markets voyages aboard Silver Muse.
The sailings will operate between Singapore and Hong Kong, using local markets and street-food traditions as gateways into the culinary identities of destinations along the route.

Planned experiences include market visits with local food specialists, chef-led explorations and stops at hawker centres and street-food locations.
The programme gives passengers an opportunity to understand how ingredients, trading traditions, neighbourhood markets and local cooking techniques influence some of Asia’s best-known cuisines.
It also represents a broader expansion of Silversea’s experiential cruise model in Asia, where food, culture and destination immersion increasingly intersect.
Four Ships Drive Major Caribbean and Central America Season
The Caribbean and Central America will receive one of the largest deployments in the collection.
Silver Ray, Silver Nova, Silver Spirit and Silver Shadow will operate a combined 38 voyages between November 2028 and March 2029.
The ships are scheduled to visit 34 destinations across 21 countries, including a new call at La Romana in the Dominican Republic.

All four vessels will offer round-trip departures from Miami, Fort Lauderdale or San Juan, creating several gateway options for travellers joining the Caribbean programme.
Voyages will combine major Caribbean destinations with smaller islands, resort ports and culturally distinctive communities.
Silver Ray and Silver Spirit will also operate eight- to 12-day round-trip Miami itineraries, with selected voyages combining St. Barts with destinations such as Antigua, Anguilla and St. Kitts.
Canouan Gains Special Destination Experience
One of the more distinctive additions to the Caribbean season will take place on Canouan, part of St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
Silversea is planning a dedicated full-day destination experience on the secluded island, moving beyond a conventional port visit.
The programme will begin with a Carnival-style welcome featuring local dancers and steel-band music.

Passengers will then be able to take part in a private beach experience incorporating refreshments, food, live entertainment and a beachside gathering.
The experience reflects a wider industry movement towards destination-led cruise programming, where longer calls and curated shoreside activities are increasingly used to differentiate luxury itineraries.
Grand South America 2029 Creates 75-Night Continental Journey
One of the most ambitious voyages in the collection will be Grand South America 2029 aboard Silver Nova.
The ship will depart Fort Lauderdale on 13 January 2029 before undertaking a 75-night round-trip circumnavigation of South America, returning to Florida on 29 March 2029.
The extensive itinerary will combine major cities, tropical waterways, historic ports and some of the continent’s most dramatic maritime landscapes.
A Panama Canal transit will form part of the voyage, alongside scenic cruising around the Antarctic Peninsula.

Extended destination time will be provided through overnight stays in Manaus, Rio de Janeiro, Buenos Aires, Callao for Lima, and Cartagena.
These overnight calls will allow passengers to experience several major destinations beyond the limits of a traditional daytime port visit.
Rio Carnival Adds Cultural Spectacle to Grand Voyage
Three special destination events will be incorporated into the Grand South America voyage.
The programme will begin with a sunset experience in Gustavia, St. Barts, featuring champagne, regional cocktails, dinner and live entertainment in a setting influenced by the atmosphere of Saint-Tropez.
Later in the voyage, passengers will experience one of South America’s most internationally recognised celebrations — Rio Carnival.
Guests will have access to a reserved area at Rio de Janeiro’s Sambadrome, including preferred positioning along the parade route and dedicated hospitality during the event.

Before Silver Nova completes its journey back to Fort Lauderdale, Cartagena will host another private event at a rooftop location overlooking the bay.
Live music, dancing and cultural performances will form part of the Cartagena experience, providing a final major shoreside event before the voyage returns to the United States.
Australia and New Zealand Programme Brings New Ports
Silversea is also expanding its presence across Australia and New Zealand.
Silver Moon will operate 10 voyages between October 2028 and March 2029, visiting 42 destinations across three countries.
The season introduces new calls at Batemans Bay and Phillip Island, while passengers will also experience scenic cruising through Dusky Sound in New Zealand.
New combination itineraries will make it easier for passengers to connect multiple voyages, including a round-trip Melbourne itinerary and routes linking Australia with Indonesia.

These options are intended to create longer regional journeys for travellers who want to explore several destinations without repeatedly changing ships.
Sydney New Year’s Eve Becomes Another Major Cruise Highlight
Sydney will become one of the headline destinations of the Australia programme when Silver Moon makes an overnight New Year’s Eve call.
The timing places passengers in Australia’s largest city during one of its most internationally recognised annual celebrations.
The Sydney experience joins Funchal as another New Year’s Eve centrepiece within the wider 2028-2029 collection, demonstrating Silversea’s strategy of positioning ships around major destination events rather than treating ports purely as sightseeing stops.
Combining these cultural moments with overnight stays gives passengers more time to experience cities when their celebrations are at their peak.
Asia Expansion Introduces Eight New Ports
Asia represents another significant area of growth in the new programme.

Silver Moon and Silver Muse will collectively operate 26 Asian voyages between September 2028 and May 2029, covering 62 destinations across 11 countries.
Eight ports will make new appearances within the collection: Yeosu, Hitachinaka, Miyako-jima, Vigan, Muara, Sihanoukville, Makassar and Maizuru, which provides access to the wider Kyoto region.
The expansion considerably broadens the geographic variety of Silversea’s Asian itineraries, taking passengers beyond several of the region’s established cruise gateways.
Kobe and Bali will also become new turnaround ports. Their addition provides more opportunities to begin or end voyages at different points across the region and increases the possibilities for combining consecutive itineraries.
Cherry Blossoms and Lunar New Year Shape Seasonal Voyages
Timing will play an important role in the Asian deployment.
Selected voyages have been scheduled around Japan’s cherry blossom season, giving passengers the opportunity to visit the country during one of its most celebrated periods of the year.

Other sailings will connect travellers with Hong Kong during Lunar New Year, bringing another major cultural celebration into the programme.
These event-focused itineraries mirror Silversea’s broader approach across the 2028-2029 collection.
Instead of building the programme only around ports and sailing distances, several voyages are structured around the time of year when destinations offer particularly distinctive cultural, culinary or seasonal experiences.
A Wider Global Footprint for 2028-2029
With 103 voyages, 219 destinations, 56 countries and 29 new ports, Silversea’s 2028-2029 programme represents an extensive global deployment across several of the world’s leading cruise regions.
The collection combines conventional luxury cruising with event-driven travel, extended port stays, specialised culinary itineraries and longer grand voyages.
From truffle country in Tuscany and Catalonia to food markets in Southeast Asia, Carnival celebrations in Venice and Rio, New Year’s Eve in Madeira and Sydney, Antarctic scenery and Japan’s spring blossoms, the programme places destination experiences at the centre of the journey.

The addition of new ports across the Mediterranean, Caribbean, Asia, Australia, New Zealand and South America also gives returning passengers opportunities to explore places not previously included in comparable Silversea programmes.
