IBTM World’s 2023 conference program promises to be a platform for forward-thinking and inspiring speakers who champion diversity and inclusivity, empowering event professionals to shape the future of the business world.

The conference will feature a diverse array of voices and perspectives, challenging and inspiring delegates to foster an inclusive and prosperous events industry.

Maria Teixidor, a trailblazer in women’s football and former member of the Board of Directors of Barcelona FC, will kick off the event with a keynote address. In her exclusive interview, “Beyond the Pitch,” Maria will share her experiences as a woman in the male-dominated football industry. She will provide insights into leadership, team culture, and gender equality, emphasizing the strategies and values that drive a thriving team and devoted fan base. Her story exemplifies the conference’s commitment to diversity and inclusion, offering a platform to voices from different backgrounds and identities.

Another inspiring speaker, Ellie Middleton, an autistic and ADHD advocate, writer, and creator, will discuss “The future of events: neuro inclusion as a channel to cultivating belonging.” Ellie’s session will explore the importance of embracing neurodiversity when designing event experiences to resonate with all brain types, challenging the conventional norms and fostering inclusivity.

The IBTM team believes that Maria and Ellie’s insights are invaluable for anyone facing challenges in their professional lives, regardless of their background or identity. Both speakers offer valuable perspectives on overcoming obstacles and driving success.

Recognizing diverse learning preferences, IBTM World introduces “Workplace Revolution,” a space for delegates to engage in conversations with inspirational figures in a campfire-style setting. Samantha Stimpson, CEO of SLS 360, will lead a practical workshop on “Creating diverse cultures,” equipping delegates with the knowledge, tools, and strategies to foster diversity and inclusion within their organizations, driving innovation and productivity.

Richard John, C.O.O. at Realise Me Ltd, will discuss “Diversifying the Workplace,” joined by representatives from Hilton Birmingham Metropole and The Power of Events. They will explore the benefits of hiring people with intellectual disabilities and those from marginalized communities, emphasizing the meaningful contributions such individuals can make to event businesses.

Vasyl Zhygalo, IBTM World’s Portfolio Director, emphasizes the conference’s focus on illustrating the pivotal role of event professionals in shaping business culture. Inclusivity is vital for a thriving culture, and the conference program aims to provide a dynamic platform for industry leaders to share their experiences and insights. This ensures that all voices are heard, innovation flourishes, and businesses achieve better results.

IBTM World 2023 is set to be a transformative event, bringing together diverse voices and perspectives to drive inclusivity and innovation in the world of events and business. With inspiring speakers like Maria Teixidor and Ellie Middleton, along with practical workshops and discussions, the conference program will equip delegates to create more diverse and inclusive workplace cultures, fostering success and growth.
