The government is keen on developing 50 new places in the country in “challenge mode” initiative said the director general of the Ministry of Tourism, Manisha Saxena, while attending an event on Tuesday arranged by Mastercard in the city.

She said that the prime minister has explained that the sector is the largest financial driver. She added that they have so many monuments of heritage and there is no culmination to the type of opportunities that they have here. This is the best time to encourage India as the G20 has concluded only recently and
everyone is talking about the country. She also said that they are also opting for destination development in challenge mode.

For the FY24, the Union Budget had earmarked 50 new destinations for the tourists all over India to be recognized and developed into new places, as per Saxena. Also, the ministry is working together on a projection for the coming 25 years to turn into a $1 trillion sector in India by 2047.The Payments Gateway & Invest under the sponsorship of the tourism ministry has introduced its ‘Priceless.com’ experiences microsite in India. It’s a website which will help travelers find exclusive offers and amazing experiences under one-roof.
