In Shimla, HP Tourism hosts paragliding demo

Taking advantage of the inflow of visitors from New Delhi to Shimla because of the public holidays, the Tourism Stakeholders Association of Himachal Pradesh has recent arranged a special paragliding demo session at the Ridge, the cultural hub in Shimla.

In the last two days in different Shimla hotels, the occupancy rate of the tourists has almost doubled. The travel stakeholders are hoping that the hotel occupancy will grow by up to 70 per cent. Of late, the hotel occupancy dropped to almost 20 per cent after the flood incidents which created massive impact in this hilly state.

The revitalization of tourism of Shimla has already started. They are planning different types of festivals in the coming days. From September 27 th , they shall start those on the impending World Tourism Day. They are planning a roadmap for the state tourism. They shall spread awareness regarding the water sports festival, flying sports, history and heritage, said Mohinder Seth, Himachal Pradesh Tourism Stakeholders Association president.

The hotel occupancy rate has increased in many ways. they are hoping it to get double due to the G20 Summit break in New Delhi. Also, they are trying to make people to get conscious through several demonstrations. Their hotel occupancy was 30 per cent, that went up to 50 per cent.
