The seafront pavilions measure 100 square metres, including 50 square metres of indoor space, and accommodate up to three guests. Each has a private veranda, outdoor hydrotherapy mini-pool and views towards the sea and surrounding landscape.

Cliffside pavilions provide a more elevated position, covering 80 square metres with 40 square metres indoors. They also feature private verandas and outdoor hydrotherapy mini-pools, placing guests above the coastline while retaining the property’s tented accommodation concept.

The design provides a different accommodation model from conventional Mediterranean resorts, with canvas structures and open-air spaces creating a closer physical relationship between visitors and the landscape.

Low-Impact Design Shapes the Hospitality Model

The Revery states that its development follows a low-impact design philosophy, using natural ventilation, solar energy and eco-conscious materials. The property also says that stonework was created using rocks from the site, while water-saving systems and biological wastewater treatment have been incorporated into operations.

Native vegetation was preserved and replanted before development, while pathways follow the original contours of the land. The property also states that the coastline itself was not altered.

These measures form part of a wider sustainability approach that extends beyond the spa and accommodation. Local sourcing and Cretan craftspeople are incorporated into the property, while lighting has been designed to reduce light pollution and maintain the visibility of the western Cretan night sky.

Elafonisi Strengthens the Destination Experience

The location gives the wellness development access to one of western Crete’s most recognisable coastal areas. Elafonisi lies around 80 kilometres south-west of Chania and is known for its shallow turquoise lagoon and pink-tinged sand. Nearby Kedrodasos is an 11-hectare protected area containing mature cedar trees reaching towards the coast.

Both landscapes broaden the tourism experience beyond the retreat itself, giving visitors opportunities to combine wellness stays with beaches, walking and exploration of protected coastal environments.
