Jellystone Park Camp-Resort in Mt. Gilead Secures Coveted Park of the Year Award at OHI National Ceremony

Jellystone Park Camp-Resort in Mt. Gilead, Ohio, has been named Park of the Year by OHI, the leading association for the outdoor hospitality industry.

This newly expanded resort, located near Columbus, earned the prestigious award in the medium-size category, recognizing parks with 101 to 250 sites. The camp-resort was one of five Jellystone Park locations nominated in OHI’s national awards competition.

The Jellystone Park Columbus North, which joined the Great Escapes RV Resorts family in 2021, boasts a range of exciting upgrades, including a resort-style pool and a scenic swimming lake with a beach and floating obstacle course. For the 2024 season, new luxury glamping cabins were introduced, and several RV sites received enhancements. Beyond meeting Yogi Bear, guests can enjoy a water slide, jump pad, train and wagon rides, a dog park, and a variety of daily activities.

In addition to the award-winning Jellystone Park Camp-Resort in Mt. Gilead, Ohio, two other Jellystone Park locations were finalists in OHI’s medium-size park category: the Jellystone Park Camp-Resort in Milton, New Hampshire, and the Jellystone Park Camp-Resort in Wichita Falls, Texas.
The Jellystone Park in Waller, Texas, close to Houston, earned nominations in two esteemed categories at the OHI awards: Large Park of the Year, recognizing campgrounds with 251 to 499 sites. and Plan-It-Green Friendly Park of the Year. The Plan-It-Green Award highlights parks that lead the way in sustainability, showcasing innovation and a commitment to environmentally conscious operations.

The Jellystone Park at Clay’s Resort, located just outside Cleveland in North Lawrence, Ohio, was named a finalist for the Mega Park of the Year award, which honors parks with over 500 sites.

The winners of OHI’s Park of the Year awards were revealed on November 5 at the association’s Awards of Excellence Luncheon in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

This recognition adds to an impressive list of accolades for the Jellystone Park brand. Recently, several Jellystone locations, including those near Dallas, Texas; Mill Run, Pennsylvania; and Jackson, Mississippi, were ranked among the top six RV parks in the United States in the 2024 USATODAY 10Best Readers’ Choice competition. The brand has also garnered attention from renowned national media outlets such as Good Housekeeping, the Travel Channel, and U.S. News & World Report.
