The U.S. Travel Association made an announcement today regarding the appointment of Joshua P. Friedlander as the vice president of research. This strategic move aims to enhance the association’s capabilities in research and analysis, playing a crucial role in supporting the understanding and decision-making processes for the travel industry. Joshua will officially assume his role on January 16.
Geoff Freeman, the president and CEO of the U.S. Travel Association, emphasized the significance of Friedlander’s role in providing market insights that will demonstrate the invaluable contributions of travel. Freeman expressed confidence that Joshua’s extensive background in research analysis would significantly benefit the industry. Friedlander, formerly the senior vice president of research and economics at the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) in Washington, DC, has a proven track record in data analysis and market research, contributing to the standard measures of the U.S. music industry during his tenure at RIAA. Before that, he gained experience in equity research at Prudential Securities.
Expressing enthusiasm about his new role, Joshua Friedlander highlighted the importance of conveying the essential economic contributions of travel through compelling research and analysis. He acknowledged the pervasive impact of travel on the economy and committed to delivering research and data that effectively communicates the industry’s strength nationwide. Friedlander holds an MBA from the Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell University.
