All initiatives showcased at the recent Tourism Investors Meet (TIM), organized by the Kerala Tourism Department in collaboration with the industry, are slated for prompt completion through a streamlined process. A singular facilitation center, set to commence operations at the Department of Tourism by January 25, will expedite the projects. Additionally, a web portal dedicated to this purpose is scheduled to be operational by February 10, as announced by Kerala Tourism Minister Shri Mohamed Riyas during his leadership of a review meeting.

Among the projects presented at the investor meet held in November, the tourism department has identified projects from 19 new investors for accelerated implementation. To oversee the progress of TIM projects and eliminate obstacles, a Project Monitoring Committee, led by the Tourism Secretary, will be established.

To facilitate communication and project implementation for investors, a designated nodal officer will be appointed, with a focus on identifying projects that can be readily executed. The decision has been made to engage a consultancy for project implementation, technical and legal evaluations through a transparent and competitive tendering process.

A Project Management Centre will be inaugurated, complemented by the formation of a Project Execution Team to enhance efficiency. Regular review meetings will be conducted bi-weekly at the departmental level and monthly at the government level.

Tourism Secretary Shri K Biju emphasized the separate listing of projects on government-held and private land. The Department pledges to extend all necessary support to entrepreneurs undertaking tourism projects on their own land.

For projects proposed on government land, a compilation of a list of tourism projects will be followed by the issuance of an Expression of Interest (EOI). The selected project, based on feasibility assessment through a common Request for Proposal (RFP), will be implemented.

All these projects are directed to transition to a single-window system for timely completion, with monthly progress checks by the Centre and necessary clearance facilitation.

A forthcoming meeting with the Industries Department aims to implement a single-window system for TIM projects. The Department is committed to formulating an action plan for the TIM projects, with a follow-up meeting scheduled for February. The Additional Director of Tourism (General) has been appointed as the Convener of the TIM Facilitation Centre, and the Chairman of KTIL as Co-Convenor.
