The airline has launched its new generation Airbus A350-900 on the Taipei-Dubai route and the launch signifies that the award-winning Premium Economy cabin will now be available to passengers flying out of Taiwan. This is an addition to the already existing A380 daily operation by the airline on the same route. With both the aircraft operating on the route, passengers flying out of Taipei now have full access to the premium products of the airline, which provides connectivity via Dubai to over 150 destinations around the world.

Dual Aircraft Strategy Strengthens Taipei–Dubai Connectivity

From 1 July, Emirates has launched daily operations of flight EK386/EK387 using the Airbus A350-900, alongside its flagship A380 service (EK366/EK367). The A350 departs Dubai at 08:45hrs and arrives in Taipei at 21:20hrs, while the return flight leaves Taipei at 00:30hrs and lands in Dubai at 05:15hrs the following day. The continued operation of both aircraft types on the route reflects strong demand between the Middle East and Taiwan, while also enhancing flexibility for connecting passengers travelling onward to Europe, Africa or the Americas via Emirates’ Dubai hub.

A New Generation Cabin Experience on the Airbus A350

The Emirates Airbus A350-900 introduces a modern three-class configuration with 298 seats, including 32 Business Class seats, 28 Premium Economy seats, and 238 Economy seats. The aircraft features redesigned interiors, improved cabin pressurisation, quieter performance and advanced lighting systems aimed at reducing fatigue on long-haul flights. Emirates has also integrated enhanced onboard connectivity and its latest version of the ICE inflight entertainment system, offering cinema-grade 4K Ultra HD displays across all cabins. Each seat includes Bluetooth headphone pairing and charging facilities, supporting a more personalised digital travel experience.

Premium Economy Arrives in Taiwan for the First Time

A key highlight of the new deployment is the introduction of Emirates’ Premium Economy product in Taiwan. The cabin is arranged in a 2-3-2 configuration and features wider leather seats, enhanced legroom and a refined design inspired by Business Class aesthetics. Each seat offers 19.5 inches of width, a 40-inch pitch and 8-inch recline, supported by adjustable headrests for long-haul comfort. Passengers also receive upgraded onboard service including curated dining, welcome drinks and an enhanced beverage selection, positioning Premium Economy as a mid-tier experience between Economy and Business Class.

The A350 Business Class cabin follows a 1-2-1 configuration, ensuring direct aisle access for every passenger. Each suite includes a fully flat bed, a 20-inch 4K Ultra HD screen, wireless charging and a personal minibar. The design prioritises both productivity and rest, making it suitable for long intercontinental journeys via Dubai. Emirates also offers multi-course dining with curated beverage pairings and premium amenities, including Bulgari-branded kits. A dedicated onboard snack area further enhances flexibility, allowing passengers to access refreshments throughout the flight.

Economy Class Enhanced with Digital Comfort Features

The Economy Class cabin on the A350 continues Emirates’ focus on comfort-driven design for long-haul travel. Seats include adjustable leather headrests, increased legroom and personal 13.3-inch 4K entertainment screens. The upgraded ICE system supports Bluetooth connectivity, allowing passengers to use their own wireless headphones. Charging ports at every seat further enhance convenience for modern travellers. These features reflect Emirates’ ongoing strategy to upgrade Economy Class experiences across its fleet, ensuring consistency in comfort across all travel segments.

Since its global rollout, Emirates Premium Economy cabin has emerged as one of the airline’s most in-demand products. It is designed to bridge the gap between Economy and Business Class, offering upgraded seating, enhanced dining and priority services such as dedicated check-in and boarding. Passengers also benefit from increased baggage allowance of up to 35kg, as well as premium amenities including sustainably designed bedding, pillows and blankets. Its deployment across select routes in East Asia reflects the airline’s focus on matching aircraft type with market demand while upgrading customer experience standards. The A350 also supports Emirates’ long-term sustainability goals by offering improved operational efficiency compared to older-generation aircraft.

A New Benchmark for Asia–Middle East Air Travel

The combination of A350 and A380 operations on the Taipei–Dubai route sets a new benchmark for premium air travel between Asia and the Middle East. Passengers now have access to multiple cabin options, increased scheduling flexibility and a broader range of inflight experiences. It also reinforces Dubai’s position as a leading international aviation hub connecting East Asia with Europe and beyond.

Emirates Elevates Passenger Experience in Taiwan Market

The introduction of the Airbus A350 into the Taipei-Dubai service is a major step forward in improving Emirates service product in Taiwan. Through its introduction of Premium Economy into the market for the very first time, along with enhanced Business and Economy class services, Emirates has managed to improve its service product in what is a vital aviation market in Asia. With the addition of its Airbus A380 product, Emirates offers a complete travel experience through its combination of comfort, connectivity, and choice.
