The “Immersive Hong Kong” exhibition made its debut in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on March 5, marking its third presentation within the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) after being previously hosted in Indonesia and Thailand in July and October of the preceding year, respectively.

Launched at Pavilion Bukit Jalil and set to continue until March 10, this exhibition serves as a significant part of a broader initiative to promote Hong Kong’s distinctive offerings and prospects through art technology across ASEAN nations. It is an effort spearheaded by the Information Services Department of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, under the theme “Hong Kong – Where the World Looks Ahead.” The event aims to highlight Hong Kong’s unique characteristics, benefits, and opportunities to the esteemed ASEAN community, encouraging them to discover possibilities for business, investment, and tourism within the city.

Leveraging art technology, “Immersive Hong Kong” offers an engaging experience that transports visitors into the essence of the city with an inventive twist. It features five thematic areas, including “Financial Bridgehead,” “I&T Brain Bank,” “Blossoming Creativity,” “Diversity and Greenery,” and “Buzzing Sports Action.” These zones offer a variety of interactive art installations and 3D displays without the need for glasses, illustrating the diverse allure of Hong Kong.

Additionally, attendees have the chance to witness the dynamic skyline of Hong Kong through the artwork of local artist Messy Desk (Jane Lee) at a specially designed photo spot. The exhibition also includes promotional videos about Hong Kong and digital panels highlighting ASEAN companies and talents, all contributing to the narrative of why Hong Kong stands as an attractive destination for visiting, living, working, and investing.

“The exhibition not only showcases to the Malaysian community the unique attractions of Hong Kong as a cosmopolitan city, but also demonstrates that the city is full of creativity and character. Visitors will be able to enjoy a new experience featuring Hong Kong’s latest developments and different facets”, a spokesperson for the Information Services Department said.

The exhibition also includes an engaging game titled “Snap a cool shot @Immersive Hong Kong”. This contest rewards the top 400 participants with a round-trip economy class airfare from Kuala Lumpur to Hong Kong.

Hosted at Pavilion Bukit Jalil, a prominent shopping mall in Kuala Lumpur, the exhibition is open to the public free of charge until March 10. Attendees will receive complimentary souvenirs throughout the event.
