Air Canada Vacations has launched a new incentive for travellers from Canada heading to The Bahamas, offering Aeroplan members up to 13,000 points per member on selected holiday packages to Nassau and Great Exuma. The promotion opened on 5 October 2026 and runs until 1 November 2026, covering qualifying travel between 1 January and 30 April 2027. The campaign targets the important winter and early-spring holiday period, when Canadian travellers traditionally look towards warmer Caribbean destinations.

Up to 13,000 Aeroplan Points Put The Bahamas in Focus

The promotion combines two opportunities to earn additional Aeroplan points. Aeroplan members can receive 5,000 bonus points per member when booking selected Air Canada Vacations packages to Nassau or Great Exuma. Travellers booking qualifying seven-night stays at selected resorts can earn up to another 8,000 extra points per member.

Together, these incentives can raise the total promotional earning opportunity to 13,000 Aeroplan points per eligible member. However, the maximum is not automatically available with every Bahamas package. The additional points depend on the participating resort and package selected.

A minimum stay of seven nights is required for the Bahamas offer. Eligible bookings must also be newly created during the promotional period, between 5 October and 1 November. The promotion cannot be applied to one-way itineraries or trips where travellers depart from one city and return to another. Availability also remains subject to the individual package and resort selected.

Nassau and Great Exuma Lead the Winter Holiday Campaign

The decision to focus on Nassau and Great Exuma puts two distinct Bahamas destinations at the centre of the promotion. Nassau remains the country’s principal tourism gateway and provides access to major resorts, beaches, dining, entertainment and nearby Paradise Island. Great Exuma provides a different proposition, built around beaches, smaller-island experiences and the wider Exuma chain.

Air Canada Vacations currently markets both Nassau and Great Exuma within its Bahamas portfolio. The January-to-April travel period is particularly important because it places the campaign directly within Canada’s winter escape market. Canadian connectivity already provides an important foundation. Official Bahamas tourism information lists year-round Air Canada services from Toronto and Montreal to Nassau, while seasonal services connect Nassau with Ottawa and Halifax. Air Canada also provides a seasonal weekly connection between Toronto and Great Exuma, according to the Bahamas tourism authority.

Canadian Tourism Demand Is Already Growing

The promotion arrives while Canadian demand for The Bahamas is showing substantial growth. Official figures released by The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism showed that the country welcomed 1,314,639 stopover visitors between January and July 2026, its strongest performance on record for the seven-month period. Stopover arrivals were more than 54,000 higher than during the corresponding period of 2025, representing growth of 4.3%. March, April, June and July also produced monthly records.

Canada was one of the standout international source markets. Canadian stopover arrivals increased 15.4% year on year during the first seven months of 2026. The destinations included in the new Aeroplan campaign also recorded positive performances. Air arrivals to Nassau and Paradise Island increased 6.4%, while Exuma recorded 18.6% growth in air arrivals over the period. These figures give the loyalty promotion wider significance for the Bahamas tourism industry. It provides another mechanism for converting growing Canadian interest into longer-stay holiday bookings during the first four months of 2027.

Aeroplan Becomes a Bigger Part of the Holiday Package

The promotional points sit alongside Air Canada Vacations’ wider Aeroplan earning structure. Since 1 January 2026, Aeroplan points earned from the flight component of an Air Canada Vacations package have been calculated according to destination region and cabin. The Bahamas falls within the programme’s Americas category, which covers North America, the Caribbean, Central America and South America.

Eligible Air Canada Vacations packages in the Americas earn 500 Aeroplan points in Economy, 600 points in Premium Economy, and 1,000 points in Business or Premium Rouge. These flight-component points are credited following completion of the package journey. Air Canada Vacations also operates a wider programme offering up to 20,000 extra Aeroplan points per member on selected holiday packages across numerous destinations. The Bahamas campaign therefore forms part of a broader strategy linking leisure packages with loyalty rewards.

Travellers Must Meet Specific Booking Conditions

Travellers need to pay close attention to the eligibility rules before assuming that a booking will generate the maximum points. The Bahamas promotion is available only to Aeroplan members in good standing, and the membership number must be supplied when booking. The offer applies to qualifying new bookings created during the promotion. For the additional package points, members aged two to 12 receive 50% of the extra points granted to members aged 13 and above. Children younger than two are not eligible for those extra points.

Points are awarded after eligible travel has been completed. Cancelled or reimbursed bookings do not qualify. Travellers should also check package inclusions carefully. Air Canada Vacations states that its all-inclusive and pre-bundled packages generally combine round-trip Economy flights, hotel accommodation, baggage allowances, taxes and fees, with meals and drinks included on selected products. However, airport transfers are generally not included for The Bahamas, apart from stated exceptions for selected Sandals properties.

Bahamas Tourism Gains Another Route Into Canada’s Winter Market

For the travel trade, the promotion combines three important elements: loyalty, air connectivity and longer stays. The mandatory seven-night duration can support extended visitor stays, while Aeroplan provides a recognised loyalty mechanism for travellers already engaged with Canada’s aviation market. More importantly for The Bahamas, the campaign arrives as Canadian arrivals are already expanding rapidly. With Canada recording double-digit stopover growth in 2026 and both Nassau and Exuma posting stronger air-arrival figures, the promotion provides another sales tool for maintaining momentum into 2027.

Bookings must be completed by 11:59 p.m. ET on 1 November 2026, while eligible travel runs from 1 January through 30 April 2027. For qualifying Aeroplan members planning a seven-night Bahamas holiday, the campaign creates an opportunity to combine winter-sun travel with additional loyalty earnings while supporting continued tourism flows between Canada, Nassau and Great Exuma.
