As a major improvement to expand tourism attractions, the Andhra Pradesh state government has introduced Coastal Zone Tourism Master Plan in all the 12 districts of the coastal region. Joint teams have tourism and fisheries department officials and Fisheries University have started the huge work out to recognize the appropriate locations to expand as beaches all along the shoreline. By now, the teams have recognized almost 289 beaches as last week the evaluation was concluded and reports were sent to the district collectors.

The district collectors were urged by the state government to confirm their discussion with the stakeholders and firm up on the report for beach development in their individual districts. The district collectors have been requested to finish the work before the Coastal Zone Management Authority of AP informs the draft Coastal Regulatory Zone, 2019 maps.

For development of beaches, its final plans have been put on the track for rapid success and came to a conclusion to finish the work before the notification of CRZ maps is done. This will assist in motivating growth in the entire coastal region to draw visitors, said K Kannababu, APTDC managing director.

Srikakulam believed to be the backward district in AP, is probably to get a huge push as the review teams recognized highest number of 60 beaches in the district interestingly. The district of Nellore has already identified around 40 possible spots to be built up as beaches; Bapatla district has about 28 points.
