As of November 5, the Maldives has welcomed 1,693,952 tourists, reflecting a 9.5 percent increase compared to the same period in the previous year. The month of November has started strong, with an average of 7,326 daily arrivals and a total of 29,304 visitors recorded in the first few days alone. This consistent growth underscores the Maldives’ continued appeal as a premier destination for global travelers.
Among the top markets contributing to the Maldives’ tourism numbers, China leads, showcasing the destination’s popularity among Chinese travelers. Russia follows closely, with 189,193 tourists visiting so far, and the United Kingdom ranks third with 145,774 arrivals. These figures highlight the Maldives’ diverse visitor base and its appeal across multiple regions.
The Maldivian government has set an ambitious goal of reaching 2.3 million tourist arrivals by the end of the year. With current trends and consistent growth rates, tourism authorities are optimistic about hitting this milestone. If achieved, this would mark another significant achievement for the Maldives, strengthening its position as one of the top destinations in the global tourism industry.
