MGTO awards 2023 quality tourism accreditations to catering and travel agencies

Macao Tourism Office Honors Top Businesses in 2023 Quality Tourism Services Accreditation Scheme Awards.

Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) recognized outstanding catering businesses and travel agencies at the “Quality Tourism Services Accreditation Scheme” (QTSAS) Award Ceremony. With 256 catering businesses and 40 travel agencies awarded this year, MGTO aims to encourage excellence in tourism services. Cheng Wai Tong, Acting Director of MGTO, emphasized the importance of quality service in fostering sustainable development, and the ceremony welcomed around 330 attendees, including industry leaders.

Cheng Wai Tong highlighted Macao’s steady recovery post-travel restrictions and urged awardees to continue striving for excellence, contributing to Macao’s reputation as a quality travel destination. QTSAS, with four award categories, recognizes businesses for their commitment to service quality and excellence.

In collaboration with the Consumer Council, MGTO launched the “Certified Shop Scheme” in 2019, commending retailers for quality services. A separate award ceremony for 35 retail businesses will be held on December 15. The awardees’ list is available on MGTO’s website, and the office plans to continue QTSAS, supporting training programs for enhanced service quality in alignment with Macao’s vision to become a global tourism and leisure hub.
