Indian Railways is creating more travel options for the hundreds of thousands who travel by train for their holiday festivities. The newly committed weekly Mysuru–Ajmer Express train service and additional special trains will help travelers have better travel options to deal with increases in crowd and congestion for traveling to celebrate holiday festivals like Ganesh Chaturthi, Dasara, Deepavali, and Chhat.. The expanded service will travel the popular Mysuru–Ajmer Express train route through Karnataka, Rajasthan and Tamil Nadu and offer service convenience for passengers during the holiday travel rush.

The Mysuru–Ajmer Express Special, operating under train numbers 06281 and 06282, will now run as a weekly regular express service. At the same time, the Hubballi–Chikkamagaluru–Hubballi Express Special and the SSS Hubballi–Rameswaram Weekly Special Express services have received extensions to support passenger movement during the festive period.

The latest railway decisions are expected to benefit thousands of travellers by offering additional routes, improved scheduling options and better access between important destinations in southern and western India.

Mysuru–Ajmer Express Gains Permanent Weekly Status

The Mysuru–Ajmer Express Special service has been officially regularised as a weekly express train, strengthening direct railway connectivity between Karnataka and Rajasthan. The weekly train service will depart from Mysuru Junction at 8 am on September 5. The return service from Ajmer will begin at 6.30 pm on September 7.
