The New Mexico Tourism Department (NMTD) recently welcomed Lancing Adams as the Tourism Development Director. Adams is experienced in working in the public and private sectors within the NMTD leadership team. Adams will soon join back NMTD as Tourism Development Director after serving as the Finance Director for the department from 2012 – 2015. When he was in this position, Adams managed the department’s budget and helped secure funding for tourism infrastructure projects throughout the state.
Cabinet Secretary Jen Paul Schroer, however mentioned that Lancing is experienced and as an inspiring leader he will bring with him leadership experience and his wealth of knowledge to rebuild the industry and boost tourism economy.
Adams also opined that he is excited with his new job role and will soon return to New Mexico Tourism Department to seize the opportunity.
After his first tenure with NMTD, Adams joined the New Mexico Children, Youth & Families Department (CYFD) to serve as Deputy Director of Operations. Most recently, he has also worked as the Assistant Commissioner for the Arizona Department of Real Estate where he managed three divisions and oversaw all regulatory affairs regarding Arizona real estate.
