Northeast China, tourism, COVID, harbin, rise in tourism

The agonizing impediment inflicted upon China at the economic level would at long last see the light of day with its reemergence. COVID-19 had crippled the economy of the tourism sector in Northeast China; however, substantial expansion is predicted in early 2024.

Travel companies like Changbai Mountain Tourism Co. and Dalian Sunasia Tourism Co. saw an insurmountable amount of growth in their stock prices.

People were consequently enthralled and were drawn towards the International Ice and Snow Festival in Harbin. The travel platforms have seen positive business expansion in the region, which signals the onset of the peak season for winter tourism.

Alongside Harbin, cities like Qiqihar and Daqing were exposed to amazing footfall. To carve a pathway into the blissful Manchu culture and dive into the effervescence of the traditional conduit, people choose to dive into Qiqihar. Whereas swaying through the terrain of the historical city of Daqing in Heilongjiang Province had made tourists boisterously exuberant.

In addition, travellers seeking wilderness and eco-tourism are drawn more and more to Northeast China’s lush greenery. The region is a naturalist’s dream come true because of its breathtaking natural beauty, which includes verdant forests, towering mountains, and turquoise waters. Travellers who are keen on exploring the area’s natural treasures are drawn to well-known locations like Changbai Mountain, which is renowned for its magnificent volcanic terrain and unusual plants and fauna.

The hibernating mode augmented by COVID will be revitalized, bringing about a positive impact on Northeast China. The growth of Harbin’s cultural and tourism industries also offers insightful information for the future growth of the area.

Furthermore, fostering the region’s rise in tourism has been the Chinese government’s efforts to capitalize on tourism as a driving force of the country’s economic growth. The government has put measures in place to help the tourism industry thrive, such as investment incentives, the creation of new infrastructure, and marketing campaigns meant to boost visitor numbers.

The China Tourism Academy gave away a staggering amount of venture capital, to the tune of 2,089 in 2023.

According to the CTA report, it is anticipated that during the 2023–2024 ice and snow season, China will experience more than 400 million vacationers embarking on ice and snow activities for the first time. The possible economic revenue for these types of leisure tourism activities could amount to 550 billion yuan.
