Octant Praia Verde in Portugal’s Algarve shows off its largest expansion ever with newly built luxury suites and private rooftop pools. The property has been completely reimagined with new spas, more open dining spaces, and exclusive beach offerings. The renovation cements Praia Verde’s position as the premier coastal retreat in eastern Algarve. The pine forests, dunes, and the expanse of the Atlantic combine to create the perfect peaceful escape for guests. The Praia Collection and the new Praia Verde Beach Bar offer elevated wellness areas, with more comfort and privacy, along with authentic Portuguese hospitality.

The extensive upgrade introduces the new Praia Collection, featuring 19 contemporary suites and rooms, including exclusive top-floor accommodations with private rooftop plunge pools and sweeping views of the Atlantic Ocean. The redevelopment also adds a new spa and wellness sanctuary, two new swimming pools, a dedicated adults-only outdoor pool, an indoor pool, a modern fitness centre, refreshed dining areas, redesigned communal spaces and the new Praia Verde Beach Bar.

New Praia Collection introduces private luxury stays surrounded by Algarve nature

The newly launched Praia Collection has been designed as an exclusive retreat within the hotel, offering guests increased privacy, spacious interiors and a stronger connection with the natural beauty of the Algarve coastline.

Positioned just a short walk from Praia Verde beach, the new accommodation building features interiors inspired by the region’s landscape. Terracotta tones, natural stone, wood finishes and linen fabrics create bright and calming spaces that reflect the simplicity and elegance of coastal living.

All 19 rooms and suites provide views of either the Atlantic Ocean or surrounding pine forests. Selected accommodations also include private terraces and balconies, allowing guests to enjoy the peaceful outdoor environment.

Spread across three floors, the collection includes four Terrace Rooms on the ground level, each offering private terraces with direct access to the new adults-only swimming pool. The middle floor houses eight spacious suites, while the top floor features seven premium accommodations, including two Master Suites with private terraces and plunge pools, along with five rooms offering private rooftop plunge pools.

The highlight of the collection is the two flagship Praia Collection Master Suites. These exclusive residences feature private plunge pools, expansive balconies overlooking the pine forest and uninterrupted ocean views, creating a secluded coastal escape.

Every room and suite includes a carefully selected minibar experience featuring premium spirits, ready-to-serve cocktails and regional products. Guests can also enjoy a cocktail-making kit, SMEG kettle and speciality teas from Portuguese brand Infusões com História, including a custom blend created specifically for Octant Praia Verde.

New spa and wellness facilities create a peaceful coastal sanctuary

The renovation introduces a completely new wellness area designed around relaxation, wellbeing and connection with nature.

The new spa includes four treatment rooms, a heated indoor swimming pool, sauna, steam room and a fully equipped Technogym fitness centre. Designed with natural stone and warm timber details, the space reflects the colours and textures of the Algarve landscape.

The wellness area has been created to feel like a private coastal sanctuary, offering a quiet environment where guests can relax and recharge away from the region’s busier tourist areas.

A new heated adults-only outdoor pool has also been added within the peaceful spa garden, providing another private space for guests seeking relaxation and tranquillity.

The combination of wellness facilities, natural surroundings and personalised treatments positions the renovated property as a destination for travellers seeking restorative stays throughout the year.

Praia Verde Beach Bar brings relaxed beachfront dining to Algarve visitors

The transformation also introduces the new Praia Verde Beach Bar, located directly on the golden sands of Praia Verde beach.

Designed around understated luxury, the beachfront venue combines natural materials, soft colours and a relaxed atmosphere that complements the surrounding coastline. The restaurant welcomes both hotel guests and visitors looking for an elegant seaside dining experience.

The menu celebrates Algarve flavours with dishes including Algarvian tuna salad, red prawn carpaccio and Iberian Pata Negra ham from Zambujal. Guests can also enjoy classic beachside dishes created for sharing, long lunches and relaxed afternoons by the sea.

Hotel guests benefit from a dedicated beach service, including buggy transfers between the hotel and beach area, reserved seating with sunshades, loungers, towels and chilled water. Food and drinks can also be delivered directly to guests’ loungers throughout the day.

Redesigned dining and communal spaces highlight Portuguese heritage

Alongside the new accommodation and wellness facilities, Octant Praia Verde has completely renewed its shared spaces.

The lobby has been redesigned to create a more open and welcoming arrival experience, while newly landscaped gardens improve the connection between indoor and outdoor areas.

The hotel’s signature restaurant, À TERRA, has also undergone a complete transformation. The renovated dining space combines handcrafted ceramics, woven textiles and locally sourced furnishings that celebrate Algarve craftsmanship and support regional artisans.

The restaurant continues to focus on rustic farm-to-table cuisine, using seasonal ingredients prepared through traditional cooking techniques, including wood-fired ovens and Josper grilling.

The menu highlights the flavours of the Algarve and Ria Formosa, featuring fresh market fish, Santa Luzia octopus, traditional wood-fired rice dishes and handmade pizzas.

New experiences showcase Algarve’s nature, culture and local traditions

Beyond the hotel itself, guests can explore the cultural and natural attractions of eastern Algarve through a range of curated experiences.

Activities include private beach picnics, visits to traditional salt pans and oyster farms, dolphin-watching trips, private boat excursions, horseback riding adventures, golf sessions and tennis lessons.

These experiences allow visitors to discover a different side of the Algarve, moving beyond traditional resort tourism to explore local traditions, landscapes and communities.

The renovation project was led by architect Miguel Saraiva from Saraiva + Associados, with interior design created by Pureza Magalhães of Pureza Design and landscape architecture developed by Teresa Barão of Topiaris. Construction was completed by Huître under the supervision of Enescoord.

With its expanded accommodation, upgraded wellness facilities, enhanced dining experiences and renewed connection with nature, Octant Praia Verde enters a new era as one of Portugal’s most distinctive luxury coastal retreats.
