Participation of women in tourism – Critical to growth & development

At the Women Deliver Global Conference, Rwanda, the WTTC repeatedly emphasized the significance of engagement of women in tourism sector to propel its growth and attain a flourishing sector.


Julia Simpson, the WTTC President & CEO, today while speaking at the conference highlighted the significance of promoting the involvement of women in the sector and conquering the challenges for success in the business world.


This event acted as a platform to highlight the problems encountered by women in tourism and discover strategies to triumph over them, with an aim to motivate change and encourage equivalent opportunities for women in tourism.


The panel discussions also threw light on the tough issues that woem encounter in different aspects related to business, comprising onstructions related to operation, entry, and ecosystem limitations.


In giving more power to young women and girls in business, the event underlined the very important role of mentorship. Mentorship programs through networking, opportunities, and resources, release their potential for financial makeover.


Julia Simpson, while addressing said that it is an established fact that companies in their leadership role that have 50% women make more money. In travel and tourism, this makes even more sense where women make the decision related to buying on where to go on a vacation.
