Positive outlook for tourism in Scotland

Neil Christison,VisitScotland Regional Director said thatthe last three years have been extremely challenging concerning their tourism and events sector. Since the first COVID-19 countrywide lockdown and following months of constraints, they are stillsteeringtheir way through the addedburdens being faced as a result of the price of doing business and staffscarcities.


In spite of this, he said that they are approaching the onset of the traditional tourism period in Scotland with the Easter holidays impending. Christisonsaid that he iskeeping afloatdue to the positivity and desireexhibited all through the tourism industry.


For the first time in three years, the Scottish Thistle Awards National Final was hosted in February.

Christison said that he would like to applaud all the local finalists signifying Edinburgh and the Lothians on the night, especially, Edinburgh International Festival and A Toast to Gaia that became national winners.


At a tactical level, it is actuallyheartening to witness the eminence of the visitor economy inside Edinburgh & South East Scotland’s innovative Regional Prosperity Framework Delivery Plan. This along with Edinburgh’s novel visitor economy accomplishmentstrategypresents a genuineprospect to work collectively to assist in growth, development and value addition to the capital and broader region’s visitor economy in anaccountablemanner.


Christisonstated that they are dedicated at VisitScotland to make sure that Scotland stays on the top of mind for all tourists.
