Qatar Tourism celebrates a groundbreaking achievement, welcoming over five million visitors in 2024.

This significant milestone reflects an impressive 25% increase in international arrivals from 2023, reinforcing Qatar’s status as a premier global travel destination.

GCC nationals account for 41% of Qatar’s visitors in 2024, while 59% came from international markets. Major source countries, including Saudi Arabia, India, the United Kingdom, Germany, and the United States, showed notable growth, showcasing Qatar’s broad and diverse appeal.

Surpassing expectations, Qatar exceeded its target of 4.79 million visitor arrivals and achieved nearly 10 million room nights sold, well above the annual goal of 8.8 million.

In 2024, 56% of visitors arrived by air, 37% by land, and 7% by sea. The country’s hospitality sector also witnessed remarkable expansion, exceeding 40,000 hotel keys.

Visitor numbers climbed steadily throughout the year, with prominent peaks during key events. The AFC Asian Cup in January kicked off a record-breaking year, while the year’s close featured highlights such as the Formula 1 Qatar Grand Prix, a thriving 2024/2025 cruise season, and record arrivals from Saudi Arabia during November’s school holidays.
