Los Angeles Luxury Hospitality Expands as Four Seasons Hotel Westlake Village Introduces Behind the Line Culinary Series for Guests and Local Food Enthusiasts

Four Seasons Hotel Westlake Village has expanded its experiential dining programme with the introduction of the Behind the Line Culinary Series, a chef-led initiative created for hotel guests and local food enthusiasts. Through the new programme, participants are being invited into a professional demonstration kitchen, where dishes can be prepared alongside members of the hotel’s culinary team.

The series has been designed to highlight creativity, craftsmanship and the shared enjoyment of cooking. A more personal connection with the culinary operations of the property is being offered, allowing participants to experience an area of hospitality that is usually seen only by professional chefs and kitchen teams.

For the wider Los Angeles hospitality market, the initiative represents another example of how guest experiences are being extended beyond accommodation, restaurants and traditional resort services. At Four Seasons Hotel Westlake Village, food is being positioned not only as a dining experience but also as an opportunity for participation, learning and social interaction.

Guests Are Invited into the Heart of the Hotel Kitchen

Each Behind the Line session is being hosted in The Kitchen, the state-of-the-art demonstration kitchen at Four Seasons Hotel Westlake Village. The space has been selected to provide an interactive environment in which participants can cook directly alongside the hotel’s culinary professionals.

Both experienced home cooks and enthusiastic beginners are being welcomed. The sessions have not been structured exclusively for guests with advanced culinary knowledge. Instead, an approachable atmosphere is being maintained so that techniques, ingredients and preparation methods can be explored without the pressure of achieving formal technical mastery.

Through this format, a closer understanding of professional food preparation is being encouraged. Participants are being introduced to the inspirations and stories connected with each dish, while practical cooking knowledge is also being shared.

This chef-driven approach supports the growing role of experiences within Luxury Hospitality. Rather than being limited to observing a cooking demonstration, guests are being given an active role in the preparation process. Collaboration is being placed at the centre of each session, creating a more engaging relationship between the hotel’s culinary team and its visitors.

Global Culinary Traditions Are Placed at the Centre

A different culinary subject is being featured during every class. Global regions, specialist ingredients and recognised cooking traditions are being explored through a changing schedule of sessions.

The programme will begin with Pasta from Scratch on Thursday, 13 August. Participants will be introduced to the process of preparing pasta by hand, with the class being structured around one of the most familiar traditions in Italian cooking.

Dessert First Cake Class will follow on Thursday, 17 September. Baking and cake preparation will be placed at the centre of the session, giving participants an opportunity to explore dessert-making within the hotel’s demonstration kitchen.

Pizza Perfected will be held on Thursday, 29 October. The popular dish will be examined through a practical class in which preparation methods will be shared by the culinary team.

On Thursday, 12 November, Sushi: From Rice to Roll will be presented. The class will focus on the progression from preparing rice to assembling completed sushi rolls. The Art of Steak will conclude the announced programme on Thursday, 17 December, with steak preparation being highlighted during the final session.

By presenting several distinct culinary traditions, variety is being introduced into the series. Different skills and food cultures can therefore be experienced across the programme without the classes being treated as formal professional training.

Family-Style Dining Strengthens the Shared Experience

Following each hands-on session, the prepared dishes will be served during a relaxed family-style meal. Participants will be brought together around the table to enjoy the food they have created as a group.

This dining element has been included as an important part of the programme. Cooking is being treated as a collaborative activity, while the final meal is being used to extend the experience beyond the kitchen. A sense of connection is expected to be created naturally through shared preparation and dining.

Within Luxury Hospitality, personalisation and participation have become important parts of the guest journey. The Behind the Line Culinary Series reflects this approach by combining professional culinary guidance with an informal and social format.

For residents across the Los Angeles area, the programme also creates an opportunity to experience the hotel without booking an overnight stay. Local food enthusiasts are being welcomed alongside hotel guests, broadening the audience that can engage with the property’s culinary team.

The programme therefore strengthens the connection between Four Seasons Hotel Westlake Village and its surrounding community. Hotel facilities, professional expertise and dining experiences are being brought together within one structured event.

Pricing and Class Timings Are Confirmed

Each Behind the Line Culinary Series class will take place from 5:30 pm until 8:00 pm. The hands-on class component will last for approximately 90 minutes, after which participants will gather for the family-style dining experience.

Standard classes will be priced from USD 95 per person, with tax, fees and gratuity charged separately. Sushi: From Rice to Roll and The Art of Steak will be offered from USD 195 per person, excluding tax, fees and gratuity.

Through the launch of the series, the culinary identity of Four Seasons Hotel Westlake Village is being presented in a more interactive form. Professional techniques, global food traditions and shared dining are being combined to create an experience aimed at both visitors and local residents.

The initiative also adds another layer to the Los Angeles Luxury Hospitality landscape. By opening its demonstration kitchen to participants, the hotel is allowing the craftsmanship behind its food operations to be experienced more directly.

Rather than simply being served a completed meal, guests will be involved in the journey from preparation to dining. The pleasure of cooking, learning and eating together will remain the central focus of the Behind the Line Culinary Series.
