Rajesh Chakraborty joins Taj hotel and convention centre Agra as General Manager

Taj Hotel and Convention Centre Agra is delighted to introduce Mr. Rajesh Chakraborty as its new General Manager. Mr. Chakraborty, a seasoned leader in the hospitality industry, brings a wealth of experience and a demonstrated track record of success to his new role.

Boasting over 26 years of dedicated service within the Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL), Mr. Chakraborty has held key positions across various hotels in India and internationally. His exceptional ability to nurture and expand businesses in fiercely competitive markets has been evident throughout his illustrious career.

Before assuming his role at Taj Hotel and Convention Centre Agra, Mr. Chakraborty served as the General Manager of Vivanta By Taj Aurangabad Maharashtra. His strategic vision and dedicated leadership at this position significantly contributed to the success and growth of the property. His prior role as General Manager at The Gateway Hotel Pasumalai in Madurai further showcased his adeptness in managing diverse environments.

After completing his studies at Kolkata Catering College in 1997, Annamalai University in Chennai in 2008, and Dr. Babasaheb Marathwada University in Aurangabad, Maharashtra in 2020, Mr. Chakraborty earned his diploma in hotel management from the latter two institutions.

Mr. Chakraborty embarked on his hospitality journey with The Oberoi Group, starting in the F&B team and steadily progressing through various roles. His extensive experience encompasses Operations Management, Project Management, Strategic Planning, Resource Planning, Conceptualization, Financial Budgeting and Control, Sales and Marketing, Team Building, Human Resource Management, Training and Development, Public Relations, Relationship Management, and Vendor Appointment and Management.

Mr. Chakraborty’s creative ideas in food and beverage and his knowledge of hotel operations—which includes lodging and food services—showcase his love for the hospitality sector. His career-long ability to gracefully navigate and resolve difficult situations has been impressive.

Renowned for his transparent work culture and decisive decision-making skills, Mr. Chakraborty fosters a balanced value approach for all stakeholders and emphasizes team development. In his capacity as the General Manager at Taj Hotel and Convention Centre Agra, Mr. Chakraborty aims to leverage his extensive experience to further enhance guest experiences and elevate the hotel’s esteemed reputation.
