Ropeways project aims to boost tourism in Punjab: Tourism Minister Maan

Punjab Tourism Minister Anmol Gagan Maan praised the Chief Ministers of Punjab and Himachal Pradesh for agreeing to collaborate on ropeway projects in the Anandpur Sahib-Naina Devi and Pathankot-Dalhousie areas. The initiative is anticipated to promote both the states’ socio-economic growth and facilitate tourism.

The minister stated that the ropeway project will be a big tourist attraction and would provide a considerable boost to the local economy. It would allow quick access to some of the region’s most picturesque places, she added.

Meanwhile, earlier the Tourism Minister discussed the Water Tourism Policy 2023 and Adventure Tourism Policy 2023, which seeks to boost tourism in Punjab.

The minister stated that these two policies were developed after discussions with tourism industry professionals. She added that these policies are a specific part of the Punjab government’s efforts to strengthen the tourism sector in Punjab.

She also stated that river rafting, boating, water sports, and other water-based tourism activities will be encouraged in Punjab under the Water Tourism Policy 2023. She stated that this goal includes constructing new infrastructure connected to water tourism in order to attract tourists from all over the world.
