Punjab has huge possibility for agri-tourism

In the ‘Tourism Summit and Travel Mart-2023’ arranged by the state government of Punjab at Mohali, is a session on Eco and Farm Tourism which emphasized the rich agricultural heritage of Punjab along with its natural charm, making it that perfect place for people who love eco and farm tourism.

While adjusting the session’s tone, Prasad Rebbapragada, the moderator, said that the Bhagwant Mann managed government is all set towards sustainable development and holistic approach of the tourism industry, improving job generation and building up new vistas towards the financial affluence of its
people.

The main target of this session is to bring eco-tourism, lesser-known destinations, and adventure tourism experiences to the forefront.


Taking part in this session, Amarindar Singh Chopra, Kikkar Lodge CEO, stated that Punjab as a state has a close bonding with nature and national parks and these nature reserves are crucial for the co-existence of the wildlife and the mankind as well as aquaculture in the state.

Pandurang Taware, the trendsetter for Agri tourism said that agriculture tourism has the possibility to grow the income of the farmer’s manifold.


Also, he emphasized on promoting women farmers and recognizing their potential in agriculture tourism. Bindu Gopal Rao, a well-known travel writer said that now everyone is conscious of environmental sustainability.
