A major expansion into Egypt travel will be undertaken by Century Cruises in 2027, when two new Nile River itineraries will be introduced aboard the Sunrise Terramar. Ancient monuments, guided cultural encounters, luxury accommodation and comprehensive travel arrangements will be combined through the 11-day Treasures of the Nile and the 15-day Legends of Egypt programmes. A four-day extension in Hurghada will also be included in the longer journey, allowing the history of Cairo and Luxor to be paired with the coastal appeal of the Red Sea.

Egypt Will Be Added to the Century Cruises Portfolio

The arrival of Century Cruises in Egypt will represent an important stage in the company’s international development. The two itineraries will be debuted in 2027 following years of planning and rising interest from returning guests. A desire to experience another of the world’s great rivers has reportedly been expressed by travellers familiar with the company’s existing cruise products.

Through the expansion, the Nile will be positioned as more than a route between historic sites. It will be presented as the central thread connecting Egypt’s temples, tombs, landscapes and living communities. A slower and more immersive style of travel will be provided, while major heritage attractions will be linked through one structured programme.

The Nile operation will initially be centred on two itineraries. However, further growth has already been anticipated. Additional departures and new vessels are expected to be considered as demand develops in the coming years. The 2027 launch can therefore be viewed as the beginning of a broader presence in Egypt rather than as a limited seasonal experiment.

Two Distinct Journeys Will Be Offered in 2027

Two different holiday lengths will be provided so that travellers can select an experience suited to their available time and preferred travel style. The 11-day Treasures of the Nile itinerary will carry guests from Cairo to Luxor, with Egypt’s ancient history and cultural heritage being placed at the heart of the programme.

The 15-day Legends of Egypt itinerary will include the same core Nile cruise experience. It will then be extended with four additional days connected to the Red Sea resort of Hurghada. Through this arrangement, cultural exploration will be balanced with a coastal resort stay.

Both programmes will be constructed as complete cruise-tour experiences rather than simple river sailings. International flights, land accommodation, transfers, sightseeing and meals will be incorporated into the wider journey. As a result, several of the more complicated elements of an Egypt holiday will be arranged within one package.

Royal Tombs and Monumental Temples Will Shape the Route

The West Bank of the Nile will be featured prominently as the journey continues through Upper Egypt. The Theban Necropolis and the Valley of the Kings will be visited, where the burial places of New Kingdom pharaohs, including Tutankhamun and Ramesses II, are located.

The Temple of Queen Hatshepsut will also be included. Its dramatic position against the limestone cliffs of Deir el-Bahari will be highlighted during the guided visit. The Colossi of Memnon, representing Pharaoh Amenhotep III, will provide another important stop within the Luxor region.

In Edfu, the Temple of Horus will be reached in traditional style by horse-drawn carriage. The monument is recognised as one of Egypt’s best-preserved ancient temples, and its carved reliefs will be interpreted during the visit. El Kab will also be explored, allowing temples, tombs and surviving city walls from one of Upper Egypt’s oldest settlements to be examined.

The Temple of Sobek and Haroeris at Kom Ombo will form another significant stage. The unusual sanctuary was dedicated to the crocodile god Sobek and the falcon-headed god Horus the Elder. Through these guided calls, the religious traditions and architectural achievements of ancient Egypt will be presented across several historical periods.

Time for River Viewing Will Be Built Into the Programme

The itinerary will not be filled exclusively with land excursions. Time will also be reserved for the landscape to be observed from the ship. From the sun deck, fertile farmland, riverside settlements and desert scenery will be viewed as the vessel is carried north by the Nile’s current.

A traditional sunset sailing aboard a wooden felucca will also be available as an optional experience in Aswan. The islands and golden evening scenery of the region will be viewed from a smaller vessel, offering a more intimate connection with the river.

Onboard lectures will be presented by an Egyptologist guide. Egypt’s legends, myths, temples and pharaohs will be examined, while the historical importance of the Nile will be explained. A Farewell Gala Dinner will be served before guests are returned to Cairo for the final stage of the journey.

Comprehensive Travel Arrangements Will Be Included

Round-trip airfare from the United States will be included in the cruise packages. Private transfers, three nights in Cairo and seven nights aboard the Terramar will also be provided. Five-star cabins with private balconies are listed for the Nile portion of the programme.

Guided sightseeing, gourmet dining and selected shore excursions will be incorporated. Complimentary beer and wine will be served during lunch and dinner. Professional English-speaking guidance will be provided throughout the main touring programme.

These inclusions will be important for travellers who prefer a structured international holiday. Airport transfers, domestic connections, hotels, cruise accommodation and guided visits will be organised within the same product. The amount of independent planning normally required for a multi-destination Egypt journey will consequently be reduced.

A Wider Nile Expansion Could Follow the Debut

The new operation is expected to be expanded if strong demand is recorded. Further departures and additional vessels have been anticipated for the years following the launch. Such growth would allow a more substantial Century Cruises presence to be established on the Nile.

For Century Cruises, a new chapter will be opened beyond its established operations. A destination recognised for monumental heritage and timeless river scenery will be added to the company’s portfolio. Through Treasures of the Nile and Legends of Egypt, one of the world’s most historically significant travel corridors will be introduced to its guests in 2027.
