Scotland is a thriving marine nation

With 6,160 miles of spectacular shoreline and more than 900 islands, Scotland is a flourishing oceanic nation. It is quite understandable the marine segment in Scotland is extremely strong, with actions ranging from offshore wind to marine tourism and fisheries, adding £4 billion to the Scottish economy and providing work opportunities for 68,000 individuals.

The marine division is so important to Scotland that the government has charted a strategy to guard the rivers, watercourses and oceans of the country for generations in the offing. Scotland’s Blue Economy Vision says that by 2045, Scotland’s joint stewardship of the marine setting should upkeep ecology health, progress livings and financial affluence, social addition and happiness.

The Blue Economy Vision encompasses Scotland’s current robust obligation to sustainability. This comprises the country’s determined climate change law which sets an aim for net zero releases of all greenhouse gases by 2045.
