Flights at Srinagar Airport canceled today due to snow. Trains in Kashmir Valley also halted. Delhi to Kashmir/Leh flights off.
Today’s air travel plans have faced a significant disruption at Srinagar International Airport, with all scheduled flights for the day being called off due to a recent bout of snowfall coupled with deteriorating weather conditions. Javed Anjum, who serves as the Director of Srinagar Airport, announced the complete cancellation of today’s flight operations, attributing the decision to the adverse weather that has enveloped the area.
The impact of the weather has not been limited to air travel alone. The Kashmir Valley, which began experiencing fresh snowfall since the previous night, has seen a considerable effect on its daily routines and transportation networks. As a result of the heavy snowfall, seven train services within the Valley have been canceled as of this morning, further complicating the travel plans of many and disrupting the normal flow of life in the region.
The situation extends beyond the local confines of the Kashmir Valley. Flights that were scheduled to depart from Delhi to the destinations of Kashmir and Leh have also been suspended. The decision to cancel these flights was made in response to the snowfall and the consequent poor weather conditions, underscoring the widespread impact of the inclement weather on air travel across the region. This series of cancellations reflects the broader challenges faced by travelers and authorities alike as they navigate the complexities of weather-induced disruptions.
