Soon Punjab to host tourism summit

On Wednesday, the Punjab government explained that from September 11 to 13, it will organize a tourism summit and travel mart in Mohali. This would be done to promote Punjab as the most preferred tourism destination to everyone.

In Punjab, Roopnagar, Amritsar, Ludhiana, Patiala, and Fatehgarh Sahib have come up as the main draws for tourists from abroad and the tourism department is working day and night to make sure that the state slowly by 2023, turns into an eminent international tourist destination, said an official statement.


The first roadshow was launched by the tourism department in Jaipur to display all the efforts adopted by the Punjab government to encourage tourism. In Mumbai, August 24 th , the next roadshow will be organized followed by Hyderabad on August 25 th and Delhi on August 26 th , said the release.


Anmol Gagan Mann, the minister of tourism, said that Punjab government is working persistently to encourage the sector in the state that will perk up visitor footfall from domestic as well as international sectors. This in turn will give greatest number of opportunities in employment for women and youth.
