This week, Hong Kong kicked off its trade-fair year with three child-focused events, attracting 83,000 buyers from 135 countries to its 50th Toys & Games Fair.

This week marked a vibrant start to the trade-fair season in Hong Kong, with three child-centric expos, including the commemorative 50th edition of the HKTDC Hong Kong Toys & Games Fair.

Celebrating its golden jubilee, the Toys & Games Fair, together with the 15th HKTDC Hong Kong Baby Products Fair and the 22nd Hong Kong International Stationery & School Supplies Fair, attracted an impressive turnout of 83,000 global visitors from 135 nations and regions at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. This significant international attendance heralds a positive year ahead for HKTDC exhibitions.

The Toys & Games Fair alone welcomed 42,000 global visitors, while the Baby Products Fair and the Stationery & School Supplies Fair saw 26,600 and 13,900 attendees respectively.

Participants from across the globe included Asian buyers from China, the ASEAN bloc, Japan, Korea, and India, as well as European visitors from the UK, Germany, Italy, and Russia. The events also saw participation from regions like South Africa, Brazil, and the UAE. Notably, there was a marked increase in attendees from China, India, and various ASEAN nations like Malaysia, Indonesia, and Singapore.

Under the banner “Innovative Play: A Legend Across Time,” the expos showcased over 2,600 exhibitors from 35 countries, featuring dedicated pavilions from Hong Kong, Mainland China, Asia, and Europe.

Kintoy Die-Casting Manufactory Limited, a long-standing participant at the Hong Kong Toys & Games Fair, credited the event for its global market reach. Managing Director Pax Lam highlighted the fair’s reputation and international appeal, noting that this year’s visitor numbers returned to pre-COVID levels.

U.S.-based STEM and learning toys wholesaler, Toy Box, represented by CEO Richard Toth, praised the fairs as prime sourcing platforms. The Click2Match platform facilitated connections with five potential suppliers, and the company planned substantial investments in products from the fairs.

The Baby Products Fair introduced the ODM Strollers and Gear zone this year, along with new group pavilions from Europe and Huzhou. Euro Stock Traders Ltd from the UK launched their Mercedes-Benz and Mercedes-AMG collections, with CEO Harry Jhamat expressing enthusiasm over the response and potential new partnerships.

The Hong Kong International Stationery & School Supplies Fair displayed the latest trends in school, office, and creative art supplies, as well as gift stationery. Accutone Technologies Limited’s Marketing Director Ada Lee from Hong Kong reported promising interactions with potential clients from various countries.

The Asian Toys & Games Forum featured a panel discussion led by Hong Kong Toys Council Chairman Bryant Chan, addressing topics like demographic shifts, sustainability, and collaborations with franchises and digital platforms.
