Sustainable Tourism Forum 2023: Nurturing Green Futures in the Maldives

In a successful culmination, IMTM Pvt.Ltd concludes the Fourth Edition of the Sustainable Tourism Forum, held at the Manhattan Business Hotel on December 11th and 12th, 2023. Explore how the Maldives is paving the path for a greener future through green investments and innovation in responsible tourism.

The Sustainable Tourism Forum (STF) 2023, guided by the theme “Green Investments and Innovation for Responsible Tourism,” brought together stakeholders from various sectors, fostering collaboration for a sustainable future. Endorsed by the Ministry of Tourism, MMPRC, and MATI, the forum aimed to define sustainable tourism establishments in the Maldives.

Distinguished speakers, including Mr. Xu Jing and Ms. Jauza Khaleel, delved into crucial aspects of sustainability. Xu Jing emphasized the need to holistically consider economic, social, and environmental dimensions for genuine sustainability. Jauza Khaleel shed light on Responsible Tourism, connecting economic opportunities with community well-being.

Divided into sub-themes, the forum featured presentations and discussions on sustainable practices. Stakeholders from HR professionals to resorts and NGOs shared experiences. Sessions highlighted investments in people, the planet, and prosperity, showcasing a commitment to sustainable tourism.

Despite tourism’s economic contributions, its unchecked adverse impacts necessitate well-executed strategies for environmental conservation. The forum demonstrated enthusiasm and cooperation among participants, emphasizing the pressing need for sustainable practices in the Maldives.
