SXM Festival extends warm invitation to locals in The Caribbean

The SXM Festival, renowned for its fusion of local and international artists amid captivating art installations against our island’s stunning backdrop, continues to attract a multitude of visitors annually. However, this extraordinary event is not exclusive to international attendees seeking seven days of musical euphoria.

In a nod to our local community, the festival extends generous discounts on day-pass rates, encouraging residents to immerse themselves in the rhythmic melodies on the sandy shores of Boho Beach Club and explore the enchanting forest of Happy Bay.

Following six successful editions since its inception in 2016, the 7th edition promises an even grander spectacle. This year, attendees can revel in not just five, but seven days of festivities in paradise, featuring new venues like Rainbow Cafe, Bamboo House, Moonbar, and Kalatua.

Happy Bay remains the festival’s pulsating heart, coming alive from Wednesday, March 13, to Sunday, March 17, from 7:00 pm to 5:00 am. Organizers have once again transformed the secluded beach into a magical party wonderland for this 7th edition.

During a press conference at Hommage Hotel in Nettle Bay on Wednesday, March 13, SXM Festival Co-organizer Krystel Arbia highlighted the allure of Happy Bay, now transformed into an enchanted forest adorned with art installations, sound, and light shows, inviting everyone to explore its wonders.

Representatives from both sides of the island echoed the significance of the festival for the destination. According to May-Ling Chun, Director of St. Maarten Tourism Bureau, the festival transcends mere techno music appreciation, offering a platform for embracing good vibes, diverse venues, positive interactions, and exceptional music experiences.

The festival’s success is attributed to collaboration with local and regional sponsors, as emphasized by representatives from various organizations during the press conference.

SXM Festival commenced on Monday, March 11, at Boho Beach, followed by vibrant celebrations at Rainbow Cafe and Moonbar on Tuesday, March 12. The eagerly awaited festivities at Happy Bay commenced on Wednesday, March 13, continuing until Sunday, March 17.
