InterContinental Hotels & Resorts has expanded its partnership with Timeshifter to provide guests at its 242 hotels and resorts across nearly 70 countries with complimentary access to personalised jet lag management programmes. The enhanced collaboration ensures that every InterContinental guest, whether visiting a property for the first time or returning to a favourite destination, can access tailored guidance designed to reduce the impact of long-haul travel fatigue.

The initiative highlights InterContinental’s focus on restorative luxury travel by bringing advanced circadian technology directly to guests, helping them adjust more smoothly to new time zones and feel refreshed from the moment they arrive. By supporting travellers in maintaining energy, sleep patterns and daily routines, the partnership aims to enhance the overall journey experience beyond traditional hospitality.

Recognised by professional athletes, astronauts and frequent international travellers, Timeshifter is a leading platform designed to help people manage the challenges of crossing multiple time zones. For InterContinental, the service strengthens its evolving guest experience strategy and supports its Intentional Flexibility approach, which introduces thoughtful solutions that allow today’s luxury travellers to adapt effortlessly to changing schedules, destinations and lifestyles.

Tom Rowntree, Vice President of Luxury & Lifestyle Brands, IHG Hotels & Resorts said: “Our partnership with Timeshifter is about putting the right technology in the hands of our guests so they can seamlessly shift through their day-to-day. By harnessing the power of cutting-edge solutions like Timeshifter, we’re not only addressing the common challenges faced by travellers but also redefining the entire guest experience. The technology embodies InterContinental’s relentless commitment to delivering intuitive service by adjusting to the evolving needs of luxury travellers.”

The Timeshifter app draws on the latest circadian science to compose personalised plans that address the underlying cause and symptoms of jet lag. Recommendations are tailored to each guest’s itinerary, chronotype, normal sleep pattern and personal preferences, offering guidance on sleep, light exposure and avoidance, and caffeine timing, applying the same algorithm used by astronauts, Olympic athletes, F1 teams, NBA players, and national soccer teams in high-performance settings.

Mickey Beyer-Clausen, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Timeshifter, said: “We have known for decades that circadian clocks govern nearly every function in the human body, from sleep and alertness to metabolism and immune function. When we travel across multiple time zones, our circadian clocks can’t keep up. That’s why when people cross time zones, they spend the first days of their trips fighting jet lag. Science shows that the only way to adapt quickly to new time zones is by resetting the central circadian clock in our brain – and that’s exactly what the Timeshifter app helps travelers do in a simple, practical way. Now, through our collaboration with InterContinental we can allow guests to optimise every moment of their time exploring the world.”

InterContinental is enhancing its approach to restorative travel by combining innovative sleep support solutions with a broader range of wellness-focused dining experiences. Alongside Timeshifter’s scientifically developed jet lag programmes, the brand has introduced a collection of nutritional initiatives designed to help guests manage travel fatigue, restore energy levels, and feel refreshed throughout their journey and after their stay.

Available through Flexible Dining menus at InterContinental properties worldwide, the brand’s selection of scientifically informed Nourish Bowls and Anytime Plates focuses on ingredients that support energy, hydration, and overall wellbeing. These thoughtfully created dishes aim to reduce the effects of travel-related tiredness while also reflecting the flavours and culinary traditions of each destination.

The menus feature carefully selected ingredients with recognised nutritional benefits. Egg-based dishes provide a source of vitamin B12, which plays a role in supporting the body’s energy processes and may help regulate sleep patterns. Hydrating ingredients are also included to address dehydration, a common challenge experienced during long-distance travel. Green leafy vegetables rich in magnesium are incorporated to help maintain mineral balance, which can be affected during journeys across different time zones.

Through this integrated wellness approach, InterContinental is creating a more complete travel experience where guests can recover, recharge, and maintain their wellbeing while exploring new destinations.

Every InterContinental guest receives complimentary access to a personalised Timeshifter jet lag plan with each reservation, covering both arrival and return journeys. Guests can activate the service through a QR code available at different stages of their travel experience, including before arrival and during their hotel stay.

Marking its 80th anniversary in 2026, InterContinental continues its legacy as the world’s first and largest luxury hotel brand. Founded in 1946 by Pan American Airways founder Juan Trippe, the brand is evolving the modern luxury travel experience by placing today’s travellers at the centre of its vision, delivering meaningful stays shaped by cultural discovery, knowledge, and enriching global experiences.
